Tameka Raymond, the ex-wife of singer Usher Raymond, is urging her Twitter.com followers to learn the Koran in the aftermath of the al-Shabab massacre of 148 Christian students at a University in Kenya.
The Associated Press identified Somalia’s Islamic extremist group al-Shabab as the group behind the massacre at Garissa University College in Kenya on Thursday.
4 gunmen entered the University and began slaughtering students who either couldn’t answer or hesitated to answer the gunmen’s questions about the Koran. Christians were executed on the spot.
The 4 gunmen were killed by Kenyan forces who first put the bodies on display at a morgue, then paraded the bodies through town on Saturday to assure the people that they were dead.
HBO’s documentary film “Terror At the Mall,” which aired on CNN on Friday, featured interviews with some of the 175 survivors of Kenya’s Westgate Mall shootings in 2013.
In a tweet to her 157,000 Twitter followers, Tameka wrote, “Watching @CNN ‘Terror At the Mall” this is poignant & scary. I advise everyone to learn at least some of the Koran. That was the test? Yikes.”
As with the massacre of Christians at the Kenyan University, the victims of the mall shooting were asked to recite the Koran to test their knowledge of Islam and to determine if they were Muslim or Christians.
The FBI has said they are monitoring Islamic extremists who are affiliated with ISIS in every state in the U.S., including Georgia.

I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic school for most of my secondary education. Part of the regular religious curriculum included learning a bit about other faiths, especially Judaism and Islam. Catholics consider those other 2 faiths as “equal” for lack of a better term (tired, brain isn’t at 100%) to Christianity because they believe in the same God. Jews and Muslims believe that Jesus was real as well, they consider him a prophet though and not the son of God. I could never be an atheist, my belief and faith in God is absolute. Organized religion on the other hand, I have some issues with that. Too much harm is done in the name of religion under the guise of God.

Dub20 has a friend who went to social services and got HERSELF declared ward of the state. How? Her mom was an addict. Her dad was MIA. She was staying at her aunt house and aunt was taking her WHOLE paycheck from her part time job at the Food Lion. She went and couldn’t afford the paperwork to be emancipated through courts. So she turned herself over to the state. Told school counselor what deal was, And showed up to social services one day. Was 15 almost 16. Smartest shat EVER. She ended up with mad scholarships and school money, and is at Appalachian State.

He uses grandpas pine tar soap. Smells like old ppl but trust me when i tell ya—immediate results. Its in GNC and online. Bout $3.
Whipfinity is good but for the most part i get him body butter from the body shop. It works miracles. Dermasil in the summertime.
Over the years we’ve tried it all except coconut oil–the boy cant stand the smell. Girls prolly like it tho.
I dont mess with the prescription stuff becuz it causes thin fragile skin & cancer. Also drink WATER & minimize stress.

Kimi, I am a chronic eczema sufferer (my whole life). I’ve failed OTC Antihistamines and I DO NOT use lotions (basically anything water/alcohol based). Like Jenie said Triamcinolone OINTMENT is good but it’s by prescription. I understand what UF was saying about it thinning the skin but it’s the only option for some. I’ve tried all the natural remedies and they don’t work for me. (Even down to someone saying they’ve used Manuka Honey)

My suggestion is that you get an petroleum based product (I know ppl complain about it clogging the pores but it works), let you son soak in plain water for about 15 mins or until you think his skin is nice and wet. Take him out, but DON’T towel him dry. Instead slather him with like a Vaseline/Aquaphor or what ever his ped suggests and put pj’s on it. It sounds messy but it absorbs right away.
Slathering him right out of the shower encapsulates the water on his skin to help it stay hydrated. Since the skin is technically another organ system it’s constantly regenerating. So as his “healthy” skin comes in the redness and scarring will go away.
Antihistamine wise, when I was about his age I was on hyDROXizine (old school like Benadryl). It helps with the itching but it may make him sleepy so it’s better to take it before bed.
As a non-drowsy OTC option ask his pes if he can take Claritin or Allegra. Zyrtec is great too but it may make his drowsy.

Oh, and check the ingredients in your detergent and soaps. Strong irritants like dyes, sulfates, parabens, etc play a big part in how our immune systems react. Like I use Dove sensitive, Shea moisture hair line, and Arm & Hammer sensitive too.
You should also check to see if he has food allergies also. Ppl with eczema are advised to stay away from certain foods and dairy products. These can also flare up asthma attacks since allergies, eczema, and asthma are tied together (a majority of the time)

I have all 3. Asthma. Eczema. Severe food allergies. Told yall I’m the oldest person I KNOW with a peanut allergy. Nobody had that when I was younger. Now 2-3 kids in each of my kids class would have one every year. I have numerous other food allergies to boot.

I had a REALLY bomb arse dermatologist, same one since I was 9. She retired last year, but left her practice in good hands. Shouts out to Dr. Laurinda Queen tho.

Thanks Jenie, User, Dubb, and Petty. I think I’m gonna do some trial and error with all those methods and see which one works best. The doctor prescribed him some of that triamcinolene but his skin is so sensitive it makes it worse. He’s really light so his scars from scratching are extremely visible on his arms and legs so I’m trying to limit the amount of scarring as well as heal the current wounds. He’s about to get lathered in Vaseline tonight until I can go to the store tomorrow and get some of the other stuff yall mentioned.
Thank God he doesn’t have food allergies or asthma. But he has TERRIBLE reactions to mosquito bites. Like it takes weeks to heal a single bite. Do yall get that too?
There is this stuff. Called Domeboro. It comes in packets. I would recommend doing wet wrap therapy with that. Google that. It’s expensive. But it will heal his openings quickly. I used to have to do them when I was little. Good luck!

I suffer. Google excema treatment and u will get the nationalexcema.org and it will give u a list of lotions, soaps etc that ppl who have excema should use. A soap listed, dove unscented, is what I use. A lotion, curel itch defense, is listed and what I use as well. They both work, no itching or nothing. Hope this helps
Forgot to say I still have to use dreft expensive ass baby detergent.
I call myself getting that cheap spanish detergent cuz it smell sooooo good (ariel/suavitel) had my son like he stepped in a fire anthill

I still have a good bit of scarring from my break out last year but the majority of it has faded. Like ppl wouldn’t know that I suffered because my hands are the only visible patches that folks see. Thank good I never got it on my face or in my hair.

Hello all! Well my Easter weekend was great! I missed my son, he left me for his dad, but that was ok. I did make the baskets and this little girl and I were out all weekend.
By the way, you all have some cute kids!!! I saw the pictures on IG. I loved seeing the kids. Whoever had the fashion show video was too cute as well. Hope you all enjoyed the weekend

@Kimi…my daughter has eczema. She has two prescription ointments, that we try to not use. The only things that work for her are aquaphor and Dove soap. I use free n clear Tide and free n clear Bounce dryer sheets. I’m thinking about switching back to the baby detergent though because something has been irritating her lately and I remember @User, I think saying it irritated her son, so I’m doing elimination. We also have to do bleach baths, like @Dubb said, it’s not a favorite.
Now for the other thing…I was reading the posts and I noticed how you all tried to ignore…she just kept on until someone else said something for her to jump on. I think she was too serious for the blog…took everything to heart. I was like that when I joined years ago (too serious) but I never lashed out like that. I just had to learn to let down my guard and not feel like everything was personal.

Newark police spokesman Sgt. Ronald Glover said the 21-year-old victim reported that he encountered DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, along with his entourage at an Exxon station on the 600 block of Route 21 around 12:30 a.m.
The victim reports he recognized the Yonkers, N.Y.-bred singer, and approached him outside, Glover said.
“The two had a brief conversation about rap music and during the conversation a male in DMX’s entourage, showed the victim a gun and demanded the victim’s money,” Glover said in a statement.
The victim said he pulled $3,200 in cash from his pocket, and DMX “snatched the money out of his hand” before jumping into one of four black Cadillac Escalades that left the scene, Glover said.
As they traveled south on McCarter Highway, the victim was able to follow them closely enough to make out one of the SUVs’ license plate, which he provided to police, according to Glover.
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing. No arrests have been made and no criminal charges have been filed, according to Glover.
Glover didn’t specify in an initial statement whether the license plate has been traced to DMX or any associates, or if police have yet tried to contact DMX.
The 44-year-old rapper was scheduled to headline an old-school hip-hop concert at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark Saturday night, according to the venue’s website.
Newark Police are asking anyone with information on the incident to contact their 24-hour anonymous tip line at 877-695-8477 or 877-695-4867.
DMX, who burst onto the national hip-hop scene in the late 1990s, has had a series of run-ins with the law in recent years, and has served jail time for drug possession, animal cruelty and multiple parole violations.
In 2013 alone, he was arrested four times in South Carolina on charges related to various traffic offenses, including driving with a suspended license.

hope everyone enjoyed the Easter holiday (for those that observe it). :hugs: to all the roses who suffer with eczema. I had no idea it was so difficult to control. I had eczema on the top of my toes, and a white lady I worked with at the time told me to rub tea tree oil on it 2X per day. it was the stinkiest stuff ever, but it worked. it took about a month total – well, prolly more like three weeks but i wanted to make sure it was gone for good. I even rubbed it on in the mornings before work and acted like I didn’t see the looks people had on their faces when interacting me or when they came in my office. my feet were itching so bad I wanted to cut my toes completely off…omg!! before the tea tree oil, I was using that ointment some of you referred to but it wasn’t working at all. i was even scrubbing my toes with alcohol cuz the burning sensation felt better than the incessant itching.
maybe some of you have tried it/maybe not, but I just wanted to put that out there as something that may help. I also cut out sugars, dairy (except egg whites) and flour products for a long time then gradually added them back in moderation. so basically, all I ate was meat and raw veggies (sometimes lightly steamed). and I drank a lot of water and green drinks…still do juice but not as regularly. I also use only organic soaps and lotions on my skin. castor oil works great for me cuz it’s thicker than most of the other oils so it stays on longer and absorbs better. I still use it in the winter time cuz my skin is really dry. in the spring/summer, i use any one of the burt’s bees body oils. that’s been about 9 years ago and it has never come back.

@User it could ne something in the water causing your son’s eczema. Cousin had it really bad while we were growing up until they moved and doc recommended they get a water filtration system for the house. She had been oN every med, oral and topical, and nothing worked until they fixed the water. You can try some of the ones recommended bt brother Slim.

you make a good point. when I had the eczema bout, the derm suggested water filtration system, so we put one on the shower and all the faucets. I only drink distilled water, no spring or tap.
