Yesterday the media went nuts when a privacy tent was erected over the back door of the hospice where Bobbi Kristina Brown lays in a vegetative state.
Most media outlets assumed Brown had passed away when they spotted a hearse drive up to the back door.
First of all, it’s a hospice where people go to die. A hearse is not an unusual sight at a hospice.
The fact that Brown hasn’t passed away yet probably means she will linger on for months or even years. It means she is being fed through a feeding tube or she’s receiving parental nutrition and hydration via an intravenous line. She is not a typical hospice patient.
As a nurse, I’m familiar with how hospices operate. They don’t appreciate family members trying to prolong a loved one’s life. It isn’t unusual for hospice doctors to write prescriptions for Morphine elixir to hasten their patient’s exit from this world. It’s a sad reality. If you’ve ever met a hospice nurse or doctor, you know what I’m talking about.
Brown’s hospice is probably making an exception for her because she is a rich celebrity. The next news you will likely hear is she is being transferred to a longterm nursing facility. That’s probably where they should’ve moved her in the first place.
