A military NORAD blimp broke loose from its mooring today in Pennsylvania. The massive blimp is dragging a cable along the ground, snagging power lines and causing power outages to over 20,000 residents.

The military hesitates to shoot the thing down because they don’t know where it will land, and, well, it contains top secret spy equipment that they don’t want falling into the wrong hands.

According to CNN, the blimp was being used to conduct spy missions along the east coast. Edward Snowden could fill us in on the blimp’s true purpose, but Obama is making sure he stays put in Russia.

Hunsinger went on to say that there are no reports of injuries or deaths, but the dragging of the blimp’s cable has school leaders taking precautions to protect children as classes begin to let out for the day.

There are currently more than 20,000 without power in the Bloomsburg area, according to Joe Nixon with PPL Electric. Nixon said they have “reports that the blimp hit power lines in the Bloomsburg area” and that they are going to the scene to investigate.
