Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer is catching heat from users of Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Messenger. Yahoo mail servers were hit by a worldwide outage around 2:30 p.m. EST Wednesday.
Angry users took to Facebook and other social media to vent their frustration at Yahoo’s female CEO, who many believe is too young and inexperience for the job.
This outage is the latest in a series of outages to affect Yahoo’s servers since Mayer was named CEO.
The most likely culprits are hackers who compromise millions of Yahoo emails to distribute their malware and infect computers.
“Marissa Mayer, please get off your lazy butt and start making sure your products such as yahoo mail and yahoo messenger work properly,” wrote user Daniel Janvrin Jr. on downdetector.com today.
He added: “ever since you became Yahoo Corps CEO things have been going down hill ever since. Marrisa your company under your leadership seems to have a bad habit of releasing new versions of yahoo messenger or yahoo mail that are buggy and crash all the time.”
So far, there is no word from Yahoo about the worldwide outage.
