In case you missed La La and Carmelo’s Full Court Wedding episode on VH1 last night, VH1 blog has the recap.
Awww, La La and Carmelo show us the real reason why they tied the knot: to give their 3-year-old son Kiyan a more stable home environment. He is all that counts.
The impossibly handsome singer/actor/poet Tyrese was one of the 400 wedding guests
La La’s parents must have had her when they were very young.
The reason I say weddings are for women is because (heterosexual) men would give their eye teeth not to have to plan one.
Click the link for more!
The following text are not my words:
– La La can’t decide which parent will walk her down the aisle. Her parents were divorced when she was young, so her mom raised her, while she maintained a close relationship with her father. Tradition says her father should walk her down the aisle, but, as her mom says, it’s not exactly fair that he gets “all the glory” at the wedding. Plus, La La’s mother has come for a long visit and to help plan the last-minute details, so she has lots of time to work the mom angle. Nontraditional!
– Speaking of nontraditional: Carmelo has been very laid-back about the wedding plans (his nickname is Mellow, so, of course), but he had two requests. He wanted 1) red velvet cake 2) a wedding band. La La thinks wedding bands are tacky and old fashioned, and this is not an old-fashioned wedding. Obviously.
– Once you have the dress, you’re set. Until you find a dress you like more. As La La mentioned multiple times this episode, she had a custom-made, Vera Wang dress ordered and on its way to the house. But when her mom came to visit, she wanted to do the whole dress-trying-on ritual with her mom. It was just supposed to be for show, until she came across a pretty pink dress that she liked as much as, if not more, than her custom dress. Her custom, non-returnable, $8,000 dress.

Didn’t watch
La La looks good. Seems like this dayum wedding happened ages ago and we still talkin about it.
Melo (that’s how it’s spelled Sandra, not “Mellow”) is my nigga but it’s not like he and La La are that big of stars… at least not until Melo wins a championship or MVP or something.
That damn Tyrese…
TYRESE!!!!! I know this post isn’t about him but DAYUM
I didn’t watch either. :/
Lala looks really good now…
Really believing hanging with the Kardashians upgraded her looks
Tyrese
Mmmmmm Tyrese
She looks like a deer caught in headlights ALL the time…she bores me.

Are you sayin you would do that to HIM?
**confused**
It was a good show, one of the best VH1 has ever put on so far…
Too bad I just commented about La La on Fanny’s Post. I will add that I liked what Tyrese asked her about being a wife and hanging around single woman. I know you do have to mix the single w/the married but not a good look to always hand out w/single women.

They are such a cute couple, and Kiyan stole my heart. He is so doggone cute. I wish them the very best.
Melo was looking awfully sexy. Tyrese –

EVERY female that hangs with them starts looking better, even Serena “Paul Bunyan” Williams and “Man Jaw” Ciara.
Well, except for ghetto duck Trina. Nothing anyone can do with that trash.
That could pose a serious social promblem if all your friends are single. Just cause you get married you’re expected not to hang with them as much. Broken friendships and people start to say you’re actin funny cause you’re married now. That’s not right….
#Imjustsayin
Lala gets a thumbs down for me I liked her better in her MTV days this whole show is fake and sad-and Melo had a male and female jump-off so I don’t know y she is trying to portray they have a happy home- I found her dull, boring and fake!

Married ppl have to make sure they make time for each other. You don’t have to ditch your friends just because you got married. I was just wondering if she had balance. Are there females her age in her circle that are married, the conversation is much diff.

My son (Peyton Manning) won big last night!
Now I would love for my team (the 49ers) to win but they looked HORRIBLE. They prolly won’t even score tonight. SIGH.
Can’t WAIT for LSU to play Florida or Alabama. I’m disgusted everytime they win.
I can deal with a pillowy man too, what makes him DL though?

Peyton made my boy Eli and the rest of the team look like TRASH. I honestly feel like Eli is Special Ed at times.
i thought the show was pretty positive compared to the other junk they air on vh1.. i cant believe chance and real got another show thats terrible.
@OHoney
I bet there are way more DL men that we would never suspect than we know… I wouldn’t trust a lot of these celebs oh let me not forget to add Antuan Cook to that DL list
I dodn’t watch but could somebody please clarify if the dude in the wife beater is her father????
I just figured out that Antoine Dodson and Antoine Cook are not the same person. My bad.
I keep telling yall Real and Chance have sold out their show is absolutley a waste of time and money-I thought it was gonna be about them finding love not walking around with shirts off with one puny chest and the other compact size smfh in disgust

I saw a little of that when I got home late last night while I was ironing for work….yeah ummmm they have their own show where they do a new adventure each week? @SandraRose I hope you got paid for posting all this crap on SpongeBob…err..I mean LaLa.
@Choco I know!
It seems like these male celebrities are really trying to warm us up to the idea that they are femine. I guess so we won’t be as shocked when they come out with it.
First, the girlie dancing, now the girlie dressing!
Neyo and Omarion are two months away from stepping onto the scene wearing skirts, they gon try to start a fashion trend with it. “Mirts”

I’m kind of upset w/La La’s mom. She did make a valid point about the moms being left to raise kid(s) and when a daugher gets married we have to take a back seat and the fathers gets all the shine. Mom is mad because La La wants her dad to walk her down the aisle. Get over it mom, it’s your daughters day, not yours.
This show was one big product placement. She almost reminds me of Star Jones with all the name dropping.
We get it you know “famous” people.

Team LeBron?? People still admit to liking LeBron in public? Wow. Hey, even if they do win LeBron already told the world he can’t lead a team to a championship like Kobe and Jordan so his ring will be worthless anyway.

DA HAIL!
EVERY SINGLE CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM IN THE HISTORY OF BASKETBALL HAS AT LEAST TWO ELITE BASKETBALL PLAYERS…. EVERY SINGLE ONE!
Kobe has TWO rings without Shaq and Shaq has ONE without Kobe. Shaq ALWAYS ride the back of a good guard…ALWAYS! Starting in college he rode Chris Jackson’s back, then Penny Hardaway, then Kobe, then Dwayne Wade, then Steve Nash, then Lebron James AND NOW HE’S WITH RAJON RONDO!
Please, you don’t want it with me in basketball.

The show was pretty good. I expected more of a wedding special vs. a full out reality show on this. I planned to watch yesterday and be da** done with it. However, there are other episodes to come. Anyway, Tyrese was killing me with the advice he was trying to give. All of that “Are you a wife or a girlfriend?” And when he said she needs to hang around married women other than just hanging with her single friends. I wanted to tell him to shut the hell up with his recently divorced arse. Not to mention his ongoing baby mama woes. He’s the last person to be giving advice to anyone.

Forgive me Lord! Tyreses,
Wow Choco that’s a crazy relationship…yikes Bike week w/ out me? and no contact either? In his dreams…

@Anna – I agree with what Tyrese said, but I wonder if that same advice goes for Melo as well. Hmmmm
__________________________________________________________________________
Thank you!!!! I’m wondering the same thing. However, I’m not totally against what Tyrese said but don’t agree with it completely. Hang with whoever you hang with. I’m to da** old to be changing up a whole group of friends because one set is married and the other isn’t. Real friends are hard to come by and I’m not changing up my crew for anyone. Who does that? He SAYS he wasn’t saying for her to switch up her whole team but who seeks out married people to hang with just b/c they’re married?!?!? Your friends are your friends and that isn’t something I’m hell bent on changing. What I think he’s really trying to get at is the problem that arises when unmarried friends try to influence the married ones.
In that case those heiffers are just jealous and aren’t your real friends anyway. Secondly, if you’re weak minded enough to be influenced by some unmarried person to do things that the rules say married people shouldn’t be doing then that’s on you.
@His I’m in here lurking! Slammin down on this Popeyes my boo brought me for lunch cause it’s raining outside and #Ibedam_ned if I go outside!
@ Choco…My hubby has gone to bike week with and without me a couple of times. I don’t mind him going, in fact I encourage him to go and hang out with his Fraternity brothers. But he better call me…Let him try not calling me I don’t care if it is a…hello, I am alright phone call.
@Choco
No. My man trips on me about taking an out of state trip to Atlantic City with all of my “single friends” for 2 days. I’ll be damned if I let him go to Bikeweek for 4 days. And with no communicado? We’ll both be single as a muhf**ka when he get back- believe that. But luckily, he doesn’t like to travel much and he thinks being couped up and around his friends for more than a few hours would highly annoy him, so I doubt he’d ever ask for such a favor.
@Chase
Girl that’s what I was thinking and she’s not a bad looking woman but when you married to something like that you don’t give unlimited space and I never met him and so glad I didn’t cuz I would’ve been able to tell if he was a player or not- I just scratched my head when she told me that I mean girl he’s good looking enough to be bunned up with another female during that whole trip – I know when I went I was bunned up with a friend of mine
But Ladies would you let your husband go out of town and not talk to him for 3-4 days while he’s at an event like BikeWeek…
~~~~~~~
Choco, I’m not married, but if I was, the answer to that question would be hell no! I would hope my husband wouldn’t want to go 3-4 days w/o talking to me. He better pull that bike to the side and make time to call home.
@ Choco
Going to bike week isn’t the problem. The 4 days of no communication is. That’s a bit of a stretch.
@OHoney
heyyy shugah! *waving*
KrayZKat: In the other post the other day about the chick who put acid on her face, was it you that said you lived in Vancouver, Washington?
@Jazy and Krazy
I agree so I just didn’t get how she wasn’t payn attn to home like that – I mean she kept him on hold to have a baby for years so long in fact his mom was all up in their business I feel bad cuz I haven’t heard from her and when she goes thru stuff she doesn’t reach out to friends like it had been a years since I had spoke to her last smh
Yes, I sure do! Do you live in this area?
@Choco – do you think she probably dropped the ball and got a little careless? Maybe she took things for granted?
KrayZKat: Yes! I live in Portland. Right over the bridge.
@Jerrica – get out! I’m from Portland – born and raised. Grew up in NE Portland.
@Krazy
That’s exactly what I’m thinking but what I don’t get is how do you drop the ball that bad??? I mean he was really patient on waiting on the baby paid her rent while she was in college – and she did not get a long with his mother and he is a momma’s boy I guess I’m more baffled as to why she would put her career first I mean they were well off he told her she didn’t have to go back to work after the baby????
EVERY female that hangs with them starts looking better, even Serena “Paul Bunyan” Williams and “Man Jaw” Ciara.
Well, except for ghetto duck Trina. Nothing anyone can do with that trash.
Serena “Paul Bunyan”, OMG! That did it for me.
***********
Man, you are too funny!
KrayZKat: Hey! I live right off Killingsworth. I was born and raised here too.
@Choco – I just don’t know. There are so many wonderful men out there who end up with women who don’t appreciate them. There are women who want meet the right man, but can’t find them. It’s baffling. Welp, you know that old saying, “You never miss the water until the well runs dry?” This is a prime example.
You haven’t heard from her in a while, so maybe she’s trying to pick up the pieces and give her relationship some thought.
Don’t yall mean Avatar at Ciara and not Man Jaw!
@Jerrica – girl, it’s a small world! My cousin lives off of 26th and Killingsworth! Before I moved to Vancouver, I lived on 21st and Weidler near the Lloyd Center.
@Choco…here’s is the funniest part of the story. The chick was my employee/somewhat friend. She didn’t show up for a work for 1 week…she didn’t call, leave a message, a text or anything explaining her whereabouts. She was flakey anyway…so I just figured she quit.
One day out of the blue…she called me and said “I would like to come there today”…I asked her why “to pick up your final check?” she seemed shocked and disappointed. I’m thinking bish, duh?
Next, she popped up at my office…but I was out at an appointment…my husband happened to be at my office. She began to cry to my hubby and discuss how her husband is giving her problems and chit.
Then check this out: she told him the reason she didn’t come back to work was because of something I did to her. She cried
and said “Can you ask your wife to give me my job back?”…but don’t tell her that I came here and we had this conversation”.
My hubby told her, I don’t keep secrets from wife…so he called me on the phone. Little did she know I was already on my way back to the office. Surprise, surprise, bish.
Legally, I can’t share what I did next.
KrayZKat: It sure is, I live on 24th.
@CHB
Well illegally she deserved an azz whoopin WTF girl thank GOD you weren’t in the office at that time-Hubby was on point tho! SMDH at DUMB AZZ!
But what are your thoughts about my friends situation?
@Jerrica – Wow! You know, I’ve been blogging a lot time and you rarely run into people from this part of the country, so it’s nice to be able to run into a fellow Oregonian!
KrayZKat: Right! You don’t run into many of them. You can always tell when someone is not from here because they get all surprised when you tell them, you were born and raised here.
@Jerrica – they sure do. There are so many transplants to this area now, and I’ve noticed the flavor is changing a bit.
I’ve also heard people say, “I didn’t think any black people lived there.” I’m like, “Surprise! Surprise! There aren’t many, but we are here.
KrayZKat: Right. I’m like there’s black people everywhere, including P.O. I want to move so bad though because of all the crimes and shooting. It is getting really bad.
@Jerrica – Yes, we are everywhere. It’s funny how little people know about the area.
It’s sad to hear the crime in Portland is raging out of control. It used to be such a nice city to live in. It’s changed so much. I don’t go there often, but when I do venture out, I can’t believe how much it’s changed. I used to live off MLK and Lombard near Popeyes, and can’t believe my eyes.
Where would you want to move? Have you considered Vancouver?
KrayZKat: I had moved to California, but I hate the heat so I came back. I take care of my nephew and that’s where his mom live, so I’ll probably go back down there so he can be closer to her. I never thought about Vancouver. My older brother lives there though. Yes Portland is just so ugh now. The only time I leave is to take and pick up my nephew or to run errands. I don’t have time for the nonsense.
@Jerrica, where in California did you live? I used to live in L.A., Inglewood, and Carson, but I always came back here. I guess there’s no place like home. The heat there can get intense, but I love California. There’s so much to do, and depending on where you live, you are close to the beaches and that nice breeze.
If you decide to move back, at least you have family there. California can be a lonely place without friends/family. Life is too short to be somewhere you don’t like. I don’t blame you one bit for wanting to get outta here. Portland isn’t the same city we grew up in.
Does your brother like Vancouver?
KrayZKat: I lived in Palm Springs. I loved it out there, just that dang heat got to me. My sister lives in L.A. She moved out there with a her friend and they just recently got into it now she had nobody. My brother is from Oakland, he likes Vancouver but not as much as Cali.
@Jerrica – Oh, Palm Springs. Whew! Yeah, I heard it was mad hot there. I’ve never been there before.
What? So this friend of your sisters just dumped her? Wow! That’s a trip because I know even though there are so many people in the area, it can also feel very overwhelming. I hope she’ll make other friends. I mean, I know we all fall out sometimes, but it’s too bad the friend just left your sister.
I don’t blame your brother one bit. Vancouver is okay, but it’s so racist here. My sister hates it. She moved to Vancouver back in 2008 from Salisbury, NC to be close to me and my mom. My mom is ill and bedridden. She can’t wait to get outta dodge as soon as possible when the time comes and my mom passes away.
KrayZKat: Yeah, my sister has a bf out there that loves my sister to death and I guess her friend got real jealous and started talking a whole bunch of bs and then moved two of her sisters in their apartment so my sister got mad and moved out, so now her friend is mad, so I was going to move back to Palm Springs, and like travel down there like once a week so my nephew could see her. I just don’t like drama. Mind you her friend is originally from L.A. so she has family there. It’s just crazy.
@Jerrica – SMH. First, I’m happy your sister has someone out there who is a TRUE friend. That’s a blessing. As far as this other “friend,” good-bye and good riddance. At least your sister found out sooner than later that she wasn’t a true friend to begin with.
So, let me get this straight. This chick moves her two sisters into her and your sister’s apartment, and has the audacity to get mad b/c your sister moved out? If that’s that nervy, I don’t know what is. I’ll tell you, some people are so trif. Why is she mad? Jerrica, I don’t like drama either and avoid it like the plaque. Since this “friend” has family there, there’s no reason to be mad at your sister. How did she expect your sister to act for not only moving her fam in, but for talking behind her back.
At least when you visit, your nephew can be with his mom. I hope she’s living in a more peaceful environment so that if you decided to move there, you could all live in peace.
KrayZKat: Yeah, she’s asked me to move there and then we’ll get a house together so we’ll see. Yeah I don’t know what her problem is mind you when I lived in Palm Springs, the girl got kicked out of her apartment and my sister moved her into our house with her sister and son and didn’t even pay rent or anything. My sister is a person that you can very easily take advantage of, so that’s why the girl wanted her out there.
@Choco…to be blunt—I think your girl is a either damn fool or not really in love with her hubby. Let’s look at the facts…putting off having a baby…pursuing her career when he told her she doesn’t have to…allowing him to travel to Bikeweek (which is really just one big party) without her and without calling her. His mamma doesn’t like her and I trust mama’s judgement when she doesn’t like the son’s woman/wife. Mama may not always be right…but they usually are. Sometimes they sense that this is just not the right woman for their son.
If I were the hubby…these would be red flags for me. Perhaps, in the back of her mind (that she will never admit) she doesn’t feel secure or possess that deep love that sustains a good relationship (maybe it’s his fault). Nevertheless, she is not displaying enough effort toward her marriage, eventually he won’t care either.
Jerrica, if you move there, at least she’ll have you and her son. She knows she can trust you. Your sister was being a real friend and that’s the thanks she gets? This chick didn’t even have the decency to pay rent. Who can you trust in now days?
Anyway, I have to go tend to my mom, but it’s been a pleasure chatting with you and meeting someone from my hometown.
Maybe I’ll see you on a thread later. Take care and have a great rest of the day, Jerrica!
where can I find Tyrese? Where does he hang at and who does he be with?
I need to see him in person to see if he is really that breathtakingly gorgeous in person.
It doesn’t make sense to look that good. I am really upset that he is that fine and famous. If he was a regular johndoe then I wouldn’t know he existed, but he have the nerve to be famous for the whole word to be teased at how fine he is.
@man
you must be ugly because you be Dogging people out behind that easy-e pic.
That’s something a lame would do.
I mean this in a nice kinda way.
KrayZKat: Thank you girl. Nice chatting with you too.
Lala looks pretty. Didn’t watch the show and don’t plan on it. I get what Tyrese is saying based off what I’ve read but it goes both ways. Having married friends helps to keep you grounded in your own marriage. When you have problems your single friends, especially if they’ve never been married, will not understand the same way someone who has experienced the same thing has and will unintentionally give advice that can hurt more than it’ll help the situation. I got married so young that I had very few married friends and my single ones were always off other shyt I just couldn’t do as a married woman. So I spent a lot of time alone whereas had I had married friends I could’ve had someone to confide in and bond with in a way that I couldn’t do with my best friends because they simply didn’t understand. Same for the men, my husbands friends were all single and they were constantly getting him into bullshyt and he was looking at the freedom they had and was sometimes envious that they could do what he could not get away with. Every married couple should have at least a few married friends and while you shouldn’t neccesarily drop your single friends you do have to acknowledge and accept that there is now a huge difference between you and them. It sucks but your marriage is more important. I’m also a big believer in not expecting something from your man that you aren’t willing to give in return. I’m not jealous, asking a bunch of questions and all that cause I can’t stand that in return. I like time to myself so I give time to whoever I’m with. I don’t appreciate being told who I can befriend male or female so I don’t do it to those I date. But I explain that in the beginning so there are no misunderstandings hurt feelings down the road
