Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin shocked the political world when she endorsed Donald Trump for president on Tuesday.

By coincidence (or maybe not so coincidental) her son Track Palin, 26, was arrested on domestic violence charges just hours earlier.

Police descended on Sarah Palin’s Wasila, Alaska home at about 10 p.m. local time Monday, after Track’s girlfriend of one year, Jordan Loewe, called 911 claiming he assaulted her.

When police arrived, they observed Track standing outside the home he shared with his parents. He was stumbling drunk, unable to hurt a fly.

Officers arrested Track Palin, due to Palin’s “escalating hostility,” and the unknown whereabouts of his girlfriend.

Track told officers there were several guns spread throughout the spacious mansion.

For “officer safety,” Track Palin “was placed into handcuffs,” wrote Officer Andrew Kappler in his report.

After Track was in custody, police searched the residence and found Loewe crying and cowering under a bed.

She told police that she and Track argued in the car on the way home. She said he was upset and calling her names.

When they reached the residence, “Palin approached Loewe and struck her on the left side of her head near her eye with a closed fist,” according to the affidavit obtained by the Washington Post.

In fact, it was Track Palin who appeared to be the victim of domestic violence.

“I observed that the male had a visible injury to his right eye and the area around his eye,” Officer Andrew Kappler wrote. “His eyes were bloodshot and I detected a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and person.

“When I asked Palin about the injury to his face, he stated that at some point Loewe ‘threw a bow’ [elbow] striking him in the face,” Kappler wrote.

Why weren’t they both arrested then?

It should be noted that at the time of Track’s arrest, American media outlets were speculating wildly that Palin would offer her endorsement to the presidential frontrunner.

So what better way to force her to reconsider her endorsement than to arrest her son for simply having a bad day?

Of course the shamelessly biased NY media had a field day with Palin’s endorsement of Trump.
