Did you watch ‘Real Housewives of Potomac‘ last night? Bravo TV is catching heat for tackling controversial colorism issues (light skin vs dark skin) on the eighth installment of the ‘Real Housewives‘ franchise.
The show focuses on six professional women who live and work in Potomac, Maryland.
Apparently biracial cast member Gizelle Bryant is being cast as this season’s antagonist and instigator on the show.
Bryant stirs the pot by spewing stereotypical racist cookery accompanied by her cartoonish depiction of black women.
“Gizelle is the only reason why most of us black folks are watching,” said blogger Attorneymom in a scathing video review on her Youtube.com channel.
“A lot of stuff she says is very condescending towards black women,” said Attorneymom. “I can not support this show. This show is sad.”
Bryant, who co-parents 3 daughters with ex-husband Pastor Jamal Bryant, still lives with Jamal even though they are divorced. Apparently Gizelle Bryant believes her children’s needs come first — and her needs are secondary.
Despite the show’s controversial storyline, Gizelle Bryant should be applauded for keeping her family intact despite her ex-husband’s shenanigans.
Jamal Byrant was accused of impregnating a 17-year-old church member and siring another daughter while he was married to Gizelle.
