Beyonce Knowles will feature the parents and brother of slain teenager Trayvon Martin in her next music video. Martin, 17, was unarmed when he was executed by an overzealous security guard in 2012.
Additionally, Beyonce will also feature family members of Tamir Rice, 12, and Mike Brown, 18, who were also unarmed when they died at the hands of overzealous white police officers.
According to Beyonce’s Stans, the @BeyHive Team, the family members will display photos of their deceased loved ones in the music video.
This news comes as Beyonce is struggling to maintain a foothold in a music industry that has seen more popular young stars such as Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande leave the 35-year-old mother-of-one behind.
Beyonce angered police departments all over the country when she performed a tribute to the Black Panthers during Super Bowl 50.
She also released a music video for her song “Formation” which featured a young boy dressed in black dancing in front of police officers. In another scene, Beyonce gyrated on top of a New Orleans police car as it was sinking.
Several police departments threatened to boycott Bey’s tour and she was forced to hire private security firms.
