Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta‘s executive producer Mona Scott-Young is really scraping the bottom of the barrel to increase viewership.

On Monday night’s season premiere of LHHATL, original cast member Mimi Faust surprised viewers by revealing she is in a year long “lesbian” relationship with a butch woman named Chris Gould.

As usual, their body language gave them away.

Look how Mimi holds the scruff of the woman’s neck — like she’s controlling a pit bull. Then they both look like they’re sucking lemons. There’s no sensuality or passion in their kiss. They should probably keep practicing before they attempt another on-screen kiss.

Considering that Mimi previously faked a relationship with cast member Nikko – who was involved with another woman off the set – no one is fooled by Mimi’s shenanigans.

Someone who is gay for pay — or the more commonly used term “trade” — is a heterosexual who hooks up with a gay or lesbian partner in exchange for monetary or material gain.

In Mimi’s case, she is so desperate to stay relevant on the show that she is willing to fake a lesbian relationship in exchange for a steady paycheck and more camera time.

People like Mimi who are gay for pay don’t have many contacts within the gay community, since the extent of their involvement in the gay community is purely for selfish economic reasons.
