A woman whose 2-year-old daughter died in a house fire while she was working at a strip club will be indicted in her daughter’s death.
Leila Aquino, 20, was dancing the night shift at the Cityscapes Gentlemen’s Club when a fire broke out at her Bedford-Stuyvesant home on Feb. 23.
After completing her shift, Aquino returned home at 6:45 a.m. to find firefighters battling a blaze that consumed her home. The firefighters told her that her toddler was dead.
Aquino faces counts of criminally negligent homicide, reckless endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a child, according to the NY Post.
Aquino had been investigated by the Administration for Children’s Services before the incident. But she was cleared of negligence in those prior incidents.
