One of the Baltimore police officers acquitted in the death of Freddie Gray is set to receive $127,000 in back pay.
Lt. Brian Rice, 42, was suspended without pay when he was charged with manslaughter in Gray’s death in May 2015.
Gray, 25, died from a severed spinal cord in his neck after a rough ride in a police van in 2015.
Rice and two other officers who were suspended without pay are entitled to back pay after they were acquitted in July.
Rice will get roughly $127,000 in back pay as soon as the payout is authorized by the city, according to the Baltimore Sun.
Officer Caesar Goodson, Jr., who was driving the van when Gray suffered his fatal injury, will receive $88,000 in back pay.
