Chicago rapper Chief Keef was arrested Thursday night for allegedly assaulting and robbing his former music producer during a home invasion in Los Angeles.
Keef, whose government name is Keith Cozart, was taken into custody on charges related to the assault and robbery of his former producer Ramsay Tha Great.
Ramsay accused the rapper and 5 goons of invading his Los Angeles home on Jan. 19 and beating him with an assault rifle. The producer also accused Cozart of stealing $1,600 in cash, an iPhone, a ring and a Rolex wristwatch.
On Thursday night, heavily armed officers from the LAPD Gang Unit executed a search warrant at Cozart’s Tarzana, Calif. home. Television news footage shows police taking Cozart and fellow Glo Gang rapper Tadoe into custody.
In the days following the alleged home invasion, Ramsay uploaded Youtube videos displaying his battered and bruised face. He accused the rapper of punching and pistol whipping him. He also posted graphic photos of his injuries on his Instagram page.
““He dumb enough to have a $6 million record deal and come in my house and jump me personally… some of that money is coming to me you goofy ass ni–a,” Ramsay said.
But Ramsay’s social media followers were skeptical of his claims.
In a new video uploaded to social media in the hours after Keef’s arrest, Ramsay ripped into his social media followers for accusing him of causing his own injuries.
“It’s real sad to see my black community condone home invasion, armed robbery with a deadly assault, hitting me in the face with a AK47,” he said. “Y’all said I was lying… you said I got hit by a car… I punched myself… Y’all generation’s f-cked up. So I couldn’t care about what y’all saying anyway.”
Ramsay also had a few words for Cozart:
“It’s Chief Keef fault. If he didn’t do this to me… he wouldn’t be going to jail. This ain’t Grand Theft Auto. He been playing too much of that . This is real life. You can’t do that.”
