I have fallen in love with Eva Longoria clothes at New York and Company She makes clothes that will last for years instead of next week or the next wash cycle. I was going through my closet and I still have my clothes from Paul Harris and Liz Clairborne in good condition. I miss clothing stores like Casual Corner,The Limited, Halston, Norton McNaghton, Jones of New York and the Silk Studio Dresses at Macy’s. Now you got a Citi Trend and Rainbow on every corner. It is frustrating as hell.

Aunty may I have your medical minute opinion. I’m currently in the hospital. I checked my self in yesterday. I have been feeling awful for a month now. I found out my red blood cell count was extremely low. 3.7. Everyone is surprised I have been functioning. I had a blood transfusion (3bags). I never considered my periods heavy. My flow was normal to me but slowly killing me. I never felt comfortable with birth control. I wonder was there another way I could have stopped this from happening. Thank you for your time. ?

Do you have uterine fibroids? If so, try your best to get a myomectomy (where only the fibroids are removed) versus a hysterectomy (where your uterus and perhaps other reproductive parts are removed). Poor thing. I was in the hospital for a week with the same ailment. 3.8 is extremely low, I was admitted immediately with a 6.5 and was given 4 transfusions over a 3 day period. After 5 days in teh hospital and countless specialist hoovering over me, that’s all I heard was I looked like a picture of good health. I was diagnosed with severe pernicious anemia, my RBC were enlarged called macrocytosis and I was extremely fatigued 24/7. I would literally hide in the closet and sleep because my family thought I was just being lazy. I have to get B12 shots every two weeks for the rest of my life because my gut doesn’t absorb B12 or folate. Keep asking questions, blood doesn’t just disappear. My oncologist/hematologist permanently disabled me at 40yo.
They have brought back the embroidered jackets with the roses from the 1970’s, bell bottoms came back for a minute. In the 90’s all the girls were wearing 1950’s beehive hairstyles, thick dark eyebrows are back from the 1930’s. What’s next??

I’m sorry to hear you’re anemic. I hope you feel better. Since I don’t know your medical history — and I’m not a doctor — I can’t give you any medical advice. But I experienced the same symptoms last year. I have fibroids and I was bleeding heavily. I felt dizzy so I went to the ER. My Hgb was 9. The doctor laughed when I suggested a blood transfusion. He sent me home with over-the-counter iron pills. What ultimately stopped the bleeding for me was taking calcium pills. Apparently calcium has clotting properties that stopped the bleeding. Always consult your doctor before taking any medication.

I’m going through the exact, same thing now.
I got a THIRD opinion after the first physician literally burst in the door and said WE’ve decided WE’re going to take out your uterus. You’ll be down a few weeks and depending on your fibroids we may need to remove the uterus through a laparoscope, C-section cut, or a vertical from abdomen on down. Whet? WE didn’t decide anything.
I decided on an ablation because I didn’t want a nasty scar, lot of downtime, nor HRT, hormone replacement. My Hgb is up to 9.9 today. I take Fe Iron 3xD, Vit D 50K 1xW, and Vit B12 and Complex along with ACV. I feel a lot better.
If anything, get a second opinion and don’t let anyone bully your informed decision.
