Rumors are swirling that the best friend of the Chicago teenager who was found dead in a hotel freezer took her own life in an apparent suicide. But are the rumors true?
Kenneka Jenkins, 19, was pronounced dead after her body was found in a walk-in freezer in the basement of the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois on Sunday.
Friends on social media accused Kenneka’s best friend, Monifah Shelton, and another woman, Irene Roberts, of luring Kenneka to a 9th floor hotel room.
The women allegedly plied Kenneka with alcohol and invited three men to take advantage of her sexually.
Rumors spread like wildfire that Shelton, who was an employee at the hotel, committed suicide.
