President Donald Trump is anything but presidential these days. After Hurricane Maria left death and destruction in the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico, the embattled president reminded Puerto Ricans of “billions of dollars owed to Wall Street and the banks” which must be paid back.
Maria left 13 people dead, 100% power outages and widespread destruction across the island.
In a series of tweets on Monday night, Trump reminded Puerto Ricans of the billions of dollars owed to Wall Street banks.
“Texas & Florida are doing great but Puerto Rico, which was already suffering from broken infrastructure & massive debt, is in deep trouble,” he wrote in one message.
“It’s old electrical grid, which was in terrible shape, was devastated. Much of the Island was destroyed, with billions of dollars… owed to Wall Street and the banks which, sadly, must be dealt with.”
Trump added that FEMA was providing food, water and medical supplies to residents who didn’t flee the island.
Twitter users slammed the president, who isn’t backed down from calling NFL players sons of bitches for kneeling or sitting during the national anthem.
Actor Marc Anthony, who has family in Puerto Rico, was among the critics who had harsh words for the Troll-in-Chief.
“Mr. President shut the f— up about NFL. Do something about our people in need in #PuertoRico. We are American Citizens too.”
