Police say rap mogul Mario Mims, aka Yo Gotti, pictured left, is not a person of interest in the attempted murder of 32-year-old Adolph Thornton, Jr., aka Young Dolph, right.
Dolph was shot multiple times during a scuffle in the valet parking area of the Loews Hollywood Hotel on Tuesday.
He is recovering from surgery at a Los Angeles hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
Police say a fight broke out between Dolph and four men, including Memphis rapper Yo Gotti, and Brandon Mills, president of Cocaine Muzik Group (CMG) and manager of rapper Blac Youngsta, who is signed to Gotti’s label.
LAPD Officer Meghan Aguilar said one of the men shoved Dolph to the ground, pulled out a gun and shot him. The wounded rapper dragged himself into the Shoe Palace until police arrived, according to XXLmag.com.
Gossip webloid TMZ quoted a police source who said Gotti was a person of interest. But Aguilar said Gotti is not a person of interest in the case.
The LAPD arrested Mills late Tuesday. Police are still looking for 3 accomplices.
Gotti and Dolph were guests at the hotel. There is a long-running feud between the two rappers after Dolph’s SUV was riddled with bullets in February. Dolph believed Gotti was responsible for shooting up his SUV.
Gotti’s artist Blac Youngsta was later taken into custody and charged with shooting the SUV.
