Tamar Braxton is the latest celebrity to free her mind and join the natural hair club. The 40-year-old singer revealed her newly shorn haircut on Instagram.com late Wednesday.
Tamar initially posted a video of a female barber cutting her tresses with clippers while Bobby Brown‘s ’80s hit song “My Prerogative” blared in the background.
Later, Tamar posted a filtered image of her closely shaved head. She captioned the image:
“Im over feeling captive to a wig, weave, people, people’s comments & opinions hell… even my OWN feelings! WE can choose to stop these things from having the power and victory over us!! And for me, that starts TODAY”.
Tamar’s followers, many of whom still wear wigs and hair weave themselves, praised Tamar for having the courage to make a bold statement against wearing hair weaves and hair extensions.
Several of the reality TV star’s followers vowed to follow in her footsteps and cast aside their own wigs and weaves.
