Notorious celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred (right) is no longer representing Summer Zervos in her defamation lawsuit against President Donald Trump. The feminist attorney announced her decision to withdraw from the case on Friday.
In a press release on Friday, Allred said: “Our withdrawal has nothing to do with the merits of her case against President Trump. We will have no comment regarding the reasons for our firm’s withdrawal. We continue to wish Summer the very best in her pursuit of justice.”
Zervos is the former “Apprentice” contestant who claimed Trump kissed and groped her without consent before he was elected president in 2016. Zervos and Allred held a press conference in January, where she stated Trump’s continual denials of misconduct hurt her reputation.
Zervos recently won a small victory in court when a judge denied Trump’s lawyers claim that he cannot be sued because he is the sitting president of the United States.
“In Clinton v. Jones the United States Supreme Court held that a sitting president is not immune from being sued in federal court for unofficial acts,” Justice Jennifer Schecter wrote in a ruling last week.
