Rapper Meek Mill was released from prison on Tuesday. The troubled rapper, real name Robert Rihmeek Williams, was sentenced to serve 2-4 years in prison for violating his probation stemming from a 2008 weapons charge.
In a statement to Billboard, Meek thanked the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and rapper JAY-Z.
“I’d like to thank God, my family, my friends, my attorneys, my team at Roc Nation including JAY-Z…, my fans, The Pennsylvania Supreme Court and all my public advocates for their love, support and encouragement during this difficult time.
“While the past five months have been a nightmare, the prayers, visits, calls, letters and rallies have helped me stay positive. To the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office, I’m grateful for your commitment to justice – not only for my case, but for others that have been wrongfully jailed due to police misconduct.”
Pennsylvania’s highest court agreed that Meek’s original 2008 charge was tainted by a corrupt cop.
Meek’s lawyers accused Judge Genece Brinkley of waging a personal vendetta against Meek. But they were unable to prove allegations that she colluded with a Philadelphia businessman who had beef with the rapper.
Mill, 30, has violated the terms of his probation at least once a year since 2009. He has served multiple prison stints for probation violations. His most recent arrest was 2017.
Wow, how much of his publishing and future points and/or royalties did he give up? Who will he “ghost write” for-for the next 20 years free of charge? If not all that, how much did his freedom cost him?
Who cares
Meek after all this hoopla and you end up back in jail over some foolish, please do your time in peace with some dignity. Thanks management. ?
Something tell me you been waiting for the right moment to use that photo ??

He better keep his black ass out of trouble.
At this point he needs to do shows to make up for missed monies. Don’t do any interviews and don’t bad mouth anyone. Just STFU and keep your head down until all of this is straightened out. ?

YES!
He did the right thing by using his plight as a platform to bring awareness to judicial bias, judicial abuse of power, and judicial vendetta’s dictating the draconian probation terms and sentences of black men.
Decade and decades long probation terms are used to set black men up for failure, guaranteed recidivism, and state mandated profiling. This is not just about Meek Mill.
“I’d like to thank God, my family, my friends, my attorneys, my team at Roc Nation including JAY-Z…, my fans, The Pennsylvania Supreme Court and all my public advocates for their love, support and encouragement during this difficult time.”

****
Well stated.
Gorgeous style and photo.
You always bring the truth. Didn’t even consider what he sacrificed for this other than legal fees.

This knee grow is going to get into trouble again, then what are these celebrities going to say?!
Thank God!! ?? Now can we all move on ?
People need to stop cuddling black men, there are some black men out here doing dirty stuff. Would Jay Z ,yt politicians and others try to get Mill out if he was a black women?! Hell Naw!!!!
Wait, the second guy has a clutch purse under is arm? Hey Bron ?

Prayers for this young. Hope is has a good mentor and some common sense.
Good luck son
I know that pictures old but what the hell! He’s been living a rough life.
I know you have a better picture of this brother but then again that is the one he used for his last album cover lmaooo
This tickled me so!!!!
Lucky nigga. Money really do talk. Any other Black man would’ve had to serve them years definitely
Genetics
He’ll be back
for a minute there they were making it seem like he was gonna be in for good this time, sigh, i should have know better than to believe the hype
Can’t argue with that LOL.
…Until he gets in trouble again the next time, since that ninja cant seem to keep himself out of trouble.
Lol true
For as much money as this dude has made, he has no excuse for constantly breaking the law and repeatedly violating his probation over and over again.
As a back man I’m definitely sympathetic to brothers who have been railroaded by the system, but to me, Meek Mill is not one of those.
Meek Mill is on the cbs nightly news…Whyyyyy?!? Is he that impawtant? I don’t know not naan one of his songs?.
Try Wild Growth from Sally Beauty salon. It works well! Its white with green letters.
Criminals are sentenced for their crimes according to the law as they should be. However, judicial bias, abuse of power, and vendettas are unlawful in the sentencing process.
According to the statistics of disproportionately lengthy sentences and probation for black men and much shorter sentences for white men committing the same crime, it is actually white men who are coddled.
What black men are is not coddled, what black men are is damaged and conditioned to fail by a network of social, law enforcement and judicial system grooming for black male incarceration.
YES, the advocacy against unfair sentencing and lengthy probation must extend to black women as well if not more because black women are too often overlooked.
The police.
Im happy for him.
I tried that! It definitely gave me some improvement but when I used it, my gma said i smelled like i rubbed arthritis cream in my head???
Right!
It was briefly discussed on Sports Center as well ?
My thoughts as well
Yet there are several blk men & women wrongfully convicted, sitting in prison, with nobody rallying for their freedom. This dumb nigga violated his parole numerous times and hes set free not serving the full term. Theres a laundry list of his violations for the public’s knowledge. Nigga didn’t learn no accountability at all. Blk men like these, set the black race back 100 years. social and economic status is important in America, forget color.
And there will be a next time!
I just hope he takes advantage and do the right thing with this BLESSING…
He gained a whole new set and class of friends cause all these celebs were on the free meek train..hopefully he aligns himself around people that can keep him out of trouble
Who he snitch on?
How do you go from Robert to RiMEEK??
Money = Privilege, But Welcome Home.
Wow this dude knows someone who has influence.
I need those people to be my friends.
Your boys better get their ish together.
This is only the first round of the playoffs and they are struggling.
LR: the second guy has a clutch purse under is arm
STOP!!!!!
I’m happy for him!!! Probably will never but any of his albums, but I’m happy he’s out!!!
No. The arresting officer had questions concerning his ethicality
This is what damages the black community – shenanigans like this. They should concentrate on positive, well living people but no ….
Sandra stop it. That judge over stepped her authority by showing up where he was doing community service.
Popping wheelies does not warrant 4 years in prison.
Lololol…l just like the suited look ? can’t speak on their play so I’ll take yo word
It Wasn’t Just For Popping Wheelies. He Had Many Probation Violations & She Kept Giving Him Chances. He Turned 5 Years Probation Into 10 Years, Because She Kept Reinstating His 5 Years Everytime He Violated.
2008 Caught Carrying A Gun While Shopping.
2009 Gun & Drug Charge.
2012 Arrested For Refusing To Let Police Search His Car With Probable Cause.
2013 Probation Violation For Refusing To Show Travel Plans & Social Media Posting Resulting In Death Threats To The Judge.
2014 Violation For Booking Shows Outside Of Philly Without Court Approval.
2016 Violation For Giving Probation Dirty Urine.
2017 Assault Charge At St. Louis Airport.
2017. Reckless Endangerment & Reckless Driving For Popping Wheelies.
But Y’all Screaming Injustice When The Average Person Going To Prison For Their First & Only Probation Violation.
Trump gets the best pics on this site ??
Don’t break the law , they wouldn’t have to worry about being locked up. Too many black men are raised (some not even being raised) by single black women, then they become punks!
Meek Free !!! ??
have u not been following the story ? or just trying to be provocative ? ? everyone involved had dirty hands !! he shoulda NEVER been locked up !!!
would that have made u happy ?
aubrey already said “seen what you’d do for fame. what would u do for freedom…”
make better choices, meek. not everyone gets this kind of miracle.
Thanks you; when people lack facts it’s sickening…
Right im was confused as to y he was getting so much media attention when there are innocent ppl in prison and no one is rally for them smh this niqqa did the crime
He Still Had A Gun & He Never Said The Gun Was Planted By The Cop, He Just Said He Didn’t Point The Gun At The Officer. And His Case Still Not Dismissed, They Just Let Him Out.
Why don’t you rally for them otherwise stfu and be ok that a black men has been released from prison.
Exactly. Facts matter.
Black folk out here talking about Meek Mill like he’s Nelson Mandela. If he was just some regular Tyrone from the hood the judge would have tossed him in jail a loong time ago. smh.
Facts!
FU, u dont know what i have done for the black communities. What have you done lately to strengthen the blk community. Blk people always want to support & rally for the wrong sh^t. If u don’t like my comment, ignore it and scroll by ur merry way. Is this the type of a blk man, u want ur son to emulate or look up to.
I think people were protesting the fact that he was denied bond. Usually when someone is denied bond they either killed someone or committed some other type of heinous crime. So, I understand why they were protesting. However, a regular ninja wouldn’t have gotten those amount of chances to f*ck up. They would have been under the jail by now.
Beautifully said.
Lol
A whole new level of purpose as an prison rights activist.
Yes what he symbolized is that important. Black men are sabotaged with disproportionately lengthy prison sentences and prison terms.
Let’s hope not.
Because he challenged a crooked cop and judge all the way up to Supreme Court and won.
Nobody Gets Bond For Probation Or Parole Violations. You Sit In Jail Until A Judge Either Reinstate Your Probation Or Sentences You To Prison Or County Jail Time Like She Did Meek. Parole You Go Straight Back To Prison No If, &’s Or Buts.
no
Oooh. I see. Thanks for the clarification. I’ve never been to jail or dated someone who’s been, so little things like that I don’t know about. Learn something new everyday.
True, Bail/Bond Is For People Who First Commit An Offense. Once You Are Sentenced To Probation If You Violate You Can Have Your Probation Reinstated Or You Can Be Sentenced To Prison Under Your Original Charges You Are On Probation For… In Meek’s Case Those Are Gun & Drug Charges.
I hate when people say this to black men “ make better choices” its not about better choices thrift, its abiut systamstic white supremacy and discrimination. Black people dont have to make better choices in order to be criminalized.. simply being black can get your ass locked up for 2-4 years.
Exactly! Black people always the first idots screaming about “making better choices” when simply being black will have your ass in prison for petty crimes.
Exactly!!
Well A Black Judge Sentenced Him & Whites, Including The Prosecutor & Supreme Court Agreed To Release Him, So Where Is This Racism You Speak Of?
If you dont know by now, I will not waste my breath attempting to educate you. ?
i get institutional and systematic racism. i can’t say racism prompted meek to violate the terms of his probation multiple times. that seems to be the product of his free will.
and, in reviewing my post, i found no statement regarding my speaking on the population of Black men. i did, however, discuss THIS Black man. who continually demonstrates evidence of poor choices. the old folks say if someone shows u who they are u should believe them.
in closing- my Black ass said what i said.
g’nite.
Stfu
Lol! Don’t use too much. It worked for me in a few weeks! Nobody said anything about the smell!! I def noticed it when I tried it years later but my bottle was old.
And Nicki wept lol …..
Let’s hope he got some “sense” while he was in jail. And he should feel lucky that there was a crooked detective involved.
Another lame story who gives a shit about this retard they should just leave him behind bars to save time he will most likely do something stupid in the future and back to prison he goes
Stop using this old ass horrible picture.
Black people do subject other black people to racism and white supremacy.
You haven’t done shit just a fake ass woke niggah complaining about how the white man keeping black people down foh
Meek Mill and Nelson Mandela in the same sentence? Ugh…
black folks have officially LOST THEIR DAMN MINDS ALL THIS CONGRATULATING SOMEBODY WHO GLORIFYING BLACK MEN GETTING KILLED AND DESTROYING EACH OTHER
he need to be lynched by a mob of black people for the glorification of criminal behavior
All this is a distraction for them resetting time…….. Meek Mills have been abducted in the hall of shame with the rest of the entertainers now, he owe white supremacy big time, you see who he first thanked the judicial system and Jay Z, and believe me he will pay in blood, sweat, and his soul ……this experience was a initiation in the Black Boule ,they never change up the schematic yall fall for it Everytime.why black people always have’t to be the ones who settle……Love and Light
My hubby said the same thing last night that he was initiated into the Black Boule while in prison hence all the powerful, elite, out of place men visiting him in prison. He also said “check out how long it really take brothers, to have there cases heard by the Supreme Court, yet this dudes had his case not only heard but received bail as well”. Stay woke! Peace and blessings!
You already know!
LOLOLOL
I think that’s the right picture too use.
I guess this a picture of him when he was younger.
Stop! This picture makes me think of Celie from the Color Purple! I just died!
is a flood coming?
#ankles
you got that right!
There is such a thing as a good Trump picture?
Meek had an illegal gun and illegal drugs in his posession when he first got arrested. That’s what started this whole series of legal issues he’s had all these years. So yes, if he had made better choices he wouldnt be in this mess right now.
I’m tired of people giving brothers like Meek Mill a pass. Personal accountability matters. We can sit there and blame “the system” all we want, but there are choices we can make so we dont get arrested in the first place.
He didn’t deserve bond with all the violations he has.
The devil!
Yeah right! He was only an activist for himself. You cant glorify the deprivation of black people and be an activist for them.
Ok he’s out! Can folk move on from this who is he ? He’s no maijor contributer to society. I don’t get the fixation on this dude.
Dead wrong for using that Set It Off 2 Pic. lol
? supposedly this is on trend
I agree y the hype
Yess
Wait till his next album
This some bull???? let that have been one of our brothers, cousins, or sons!!!! They would have locked them up first violation!!! What about black men that are still locked up for bullshit!!!! Oh they dont have jay z, or Robert Kraft..foh???
I’ll get another bottle. Thnx hun
At. All. !!!!!!!
i’m still waiting on that brother that’s locked up in China for no reason to get released and sent home
Exactly!!! Wtf has he done for his people!!!??? Never seen him protesting, or talking about issues in the black community. Now that his ads in jail he talking about oppression of black men!!!! If he wasn’t in that situation we would not have heard nothing from his bitch ass!! What about mumia abu jamal????? yea I bet you’ll running to google..foh
Black man got railroaded PERIOD. He deserves to be out. Didn’t know you had to be a “contributor” to our community to get justice or demand justice.
And to keep it a buck, the dude has done ton’s for the youth of Philly. But even if he was a crackhead that wasn’t famous he still deserves justice if he being done dirty by a crooked system……..why do black people have to cherry pick issues or judge based on who and who isn’t deserving of something we all want for ourselves and those we love
WOW!!! I can’t believe they really let him out…..well damn….well I hope and pray he does the right thing going forward and dont give them NO REASON to want to violate him or throw him back in the clink. I am sooo shocked because there a many black men out here in the same situation was Meek, yet nothing would ever go down to where they are released….so in this case I am sure that star power and such played a huge roll in his release. So with that being said….again I hope he does the right thing moving forward. And help others who have been wrongfully convicted and jailed.
agree
