The fashion industry is still reeling from fashion icon Kate Spade’s untimely death on Tuesday. A housekeeper found the 55-year-old designer hanging from a red scarf tied to a doorknob in her bedroom just after 10 a.m.
Spade left a suicide note addressed to her 13-year-old daughter, Frances Beatrix Spade.
“Bea – I have always loved you. This is not your fault. Ask Daddy!” She wrote, according to a TMZ source. The note was found on a bed near her body.
Spade was married to Andy Spade, the brother of comic David Spade. Andy co-founded Kate’s first clothing line in 1993.
Fans of Spade’s uniquely designed handbags are still reeling from the news of her suicide. Mourners took to Twitter.com to post images of their first ever Kate Spade handbags and backpacks.

For my very first job in Advertising, I treated myself to a brand new Kate Spade laptop bag. Almost 4 years later and not only has the bag held up but so has my memory of how proud I was to have bought it. #KateSpade pic.twitter.com/SzWWSyj2FM
