Trump Baby Blimp Soars Over London During Trump Protests

Several hundred protesters demonstrated in Parliament Square as a giant blimp in a diaper, dubbed ‘Trump Baby’, soared over the crowd to protest visiting U.S. President Donald Trump.

Despite the scattered protests, President and Melania Trump were greeted warmly by British Prime Minister Theresa May and her husband Philip May at Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, England on Thursday.

The President and First Lady Melania Trump touched down Thursday on Air Force One for their first official visit to the UK since he was elected president.

Melania was unfazed by the protests as she tried her hand at a game of bowls whilst high-fiving British Army veterans, known as Chelsea Pensioners.

On Friday, the President and Mrs. Trump will take tea with the Queen of England at Windsor Castle.

London’s mayor Sadiq Khan gave permission for Trump Baby to take flight in protest against Trump.

“I don’t care if it offends him,” Khan said, citing the citizens’ right to protest.

“The idea that we would park our rights and privileges and freedoms because it may cause [offense] to a U.S. president, I think people in London and the U.K. would find objectionable as indeed would Americans,” the mayor said. “We should cherish the fact they’ve got the right to [protest].”

Khan, who is the first Muslim mayor of London, has come under fire for the escalating rate of violent crimes — mostly stabbings by Muslim refugees — in London and the outer boroughs.
