The BART Police Department released images of the suspect who approached 2 sisters and slit their throats with a knife Sunday night.
The incidents happened at the BART MacArthur Station in Oakland, California at 9:36 p.m. Sunday.
Police say 18-year-old Nia Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene. Her sister, Lahtifa Wilson, 26, was transported to a nearby hospital, where she is in stable condition with a neck wound.
According to BART PD, both suspect and victims boarded the train at the Concord Station and departed the train at the MacArthur Station.
Surveillance footage shows a white male, identified as 27-year-old John Lee Cowell, approach and stab the sisters on the train platform.
Cowell is described as a stocky, Caucasian, 5′ 8″, 190 pounds with short, dark hair as well as a closely cropped beard and mustache. He should be considered extremely dangerous and anyone who sees him should immediately call 9-1-1.
