Former President Barack Obama released his list of endorsements for the upcoming midterm elections in November. One name that is noticeably missing from the list is rising Democratic star Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Obama endorsed 81 Democratic candidates from 13 states around the country. The list includes Stacey Abrams, the openly lesbian, Black female candidate for governor of Georgia. She will face Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp on Nov. 6. Kemp has already received an endorsement from President Trump.
Ocasio-Cortez, from New York, is quickly losing the support of Democrats because of her socialism stance. Ocasio-Cortez became an overnight sensation when she upset establishment candidate Joe Crowley in the Demoractic primary in New York’s 14th congressional district.
Cable news networks courted Ocasio-Cortez and she was a hot ticket on morning talk shows.
But Ocasio-Cortez angered Democratics earlier this month when she urged voters to “flip this seat RED in November” while campaigning for a congressional candidate in Kansas.
The color red is associated with the Republican Party while blue is the color associated with the Democrat Party.
But even before that blunder, the Democrats were fleeing from Ocasio-Cortez’s corner.
Now it seems Obama has sealed Ocasio-Cortez’s fate by declining to endorse her for a House seat.
