A suspect arrested in rapper XXXTentacion’s shooting death hid evidence in the one place he thought police would never look: his grandma’s Cadillac.
Police recovered the incriminating evidence while executing a search warrant on a Cadillac owned by the grandma of suspect Michael Boatwright, pictured left.
Police say ski masks, .22 caliber ammunition, and an AR-15 assault rifle were found in the Caddy. The ammunition matched shell casings recovered at the scene of the murder outside a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida on June 18.
Police have arrested all four suspects in X’s murder. The final suspect — trigger man Trayvon Newsome (pictured) turned himself in at his attorney’s office in Fort Lauderdale earlier this week.
Already in custody are the getaway driver Dedrick Williams, trigger man Michael Boatwright, and Robert Allen who was arrested at his sister’s home in rural Georgia on July 26. Boatwright was arrested on July 5 while in custody on unrelated drug charges.
All four face charges including first-degree murder and robbery with a deadly weapon.
A judge ordered a mental evaluation for Boatwright to determine if he is mentally fit to stand trial.
