President Donald Trump and CNN reporter April Ryan lashed out at Omarosa Manigault Newman after she apparently leaked audio of discussions that took place inside a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) within the White House.
Over the weekend, Omarosa leaked audio of White House Chief of Staff John Kelly terminating her from her job as a former White House aide.
Kelly’s demeanor on the audio was a far cry from the behavior Omarosa described to the news media. Omarosa claimed Kelly verbally abused her, but the audio contradicts her claims.
On the tape, which was reportedly recorded inside the White House Situation Room, Kelly sounds cordial and respectful toward the former reality TV star.
Rather than charge with breaking federal law, Kelly told Omarosa “I’d like to see this be a friendly departure” and that he didn’t want to make things “ugly for you.”
Kelly explained that Omarosa used a government vehicle for her own personal use and other “significant legal issues.” But others say she is the White House snitch who leaked sensitive national security information to the news media.
In a furious tweet on Sunday, CNN reporter April Ryan advised Omarosa to “keep my name out of your mouth” and “lawyer up” after Omarosa mentioned her by name on Sunday’s Meet the Press.
Rumor has it that Ryan was the recipient of numerous leaks from an unnamed White House insider who may or may not be Omarosa.
That would explain why CNN hired Ryan, who was a longtime White House beat reporter for American Urban Radio Networks.
Now that Omarosa faces possible arrest for federal crimes, Ryan is eager to distance herself from the drama.
There is also a report that, after she was fired, Omarosa attempted to enter Trump’s private residence at the White House to beg for her job back. But she tripped a Secret Service alarm and was booted from the premises.
President Trump did not mince words in a series of angry tweets directed at Omarosa on Monday.
“Wacky Omarosa, who got fired 3 times on the Apprentice, now got fired for the last time. She never made it, never will. She begged me for a job, tears in her eyes, I said Ok,” he tweeted on Monday.
“People in the White House hated her. She was vicious, but not smart. I would rarely see her but heard really bad things. Nasty to people & would constantly miss meetings & work. When Gen. Kelly came on board he told me she was a loser & nothing but problems. I told him to try working it out, if possible, because she only said GREAT things about me – until she got fired! While I know it’s “not presidential” to take on a lowlife like Omarosa, and while I would rather not be doing so, this is a modern day form of communication and I know the Fake News Media will be working overtime to make even Wacky Omarosa look legitimate as possible. Sorry!”
