Kanye West Takes Jim Brown On Tour of Studio, Apologizes for Wearing MAGA Cap, Slavery Comments

Kanye West gave NFL legend Jim Brown, 82, and his young wife Monique Brown a grand tour of his Calabasas, Calif. recording studio on Tuesday. Kanye, 41, was in a jovial mood as he headed to Chicago for an interview on WGCI.

Both Kanye and Jim Brown share the same political views. They are both centrist conservatives with a fondness for embattled U.S. President Donald Trump. Kanye invited Brown to his studio after the NFL great endorsed President Trump for re-electin in 2020.

Brown defended Trump during an appearance on Fox & Friends on Tuesday.

“We should look at ourselves first before we look at the president,” Brown said. “We have to be able to, as citizens, bring something that the president can join forces with and triple the effectiveness of it.”

In the interview on WGCI, Kanye apologized for wearing the red Make America Great Again ball cap which has become a symbol of hate among Black people.

“I’m sorry for the one-two effect of the MAGA hat into the slave comment, and I’m sorry for people that felt let down by that moment,” he said.

Kanye also apologized for making his slavery comments earlier this year during a visit to TMZ.

“I have never really approached or addressed the slavery comment fully, and it’s not something for me to over-intellectualize. This is something about the fact that it hurt people’s feelings and the way that I presented that piece of information. I could present in a way more calm way, but I was ramped up. And I apologize. That happens sometimes when people are — I’m not blaming mental health, but I’m explaining mental health. I don’t know if I properly apologized for how the slavery comment made people feel.”
