President Donald Trump is planning to fire Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen (pictured) and Chief of Staff John Kelly. The President terminated Mira Ricardel, an advisor to National Security Advisor John Bolton, on Tuesday.
Ricardel was escorted from the White House one Tuesday, Nov. 13, according to published reports.
Ricardel is the top deputy to national security advisor John Bolton, who was involved in a “high-profile” clash with Chief of Staff Kelly and other top aides two weeks ago, ABC News reports.
Sources tell ABC News that First Lady Melania Trump wanted Ricardel fired, saying Ricardel “no longer deserves the honor of serving in the White House.”
Melania reportedly complained to the President that Ricardel was “too aggressive” and had mistreated her.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the first lady’s staff “battled with Ms. Ricardel during the first lady’s trip to Africa last month.” The fight was over seating on FLOTUS’s plane” and Ricardel reportedly threatened to withhold National Security Council resources from the First Lady.
Melania’s team also suspect Ricardel was behind some of the “negative stories” leaked to the anti-Trump news media.
Also on the chopping block are Kelly and Nielsen, who President Trump criticized for her handling of the South American immigrant caravan making its way to America.
The top level terminations are part of Trump’s ongoing plan to “shake up” his Cabinet after the midterm elections, which were held on Nov. 6.
