Remy Ma, 38, is recovering in a hospital following emergency surgery days after giving birth to her daughter.
The rapper-turned-reality TV star and her husband, rapper Papoose welcomed a baby girl last week. Remy, real name Reminisce Mackie, suffered complications and had to undergo an emergency operation on Tuesday, Dec. 18.
According to TMZ, Remy received blood transfusions for excessive bleeding, but she is expected to be discharged from the hospital soon.
The new parents have yet to comment on TMZ’s report.
Papoose, 40, previously kept fans informed while Remy was in the delivery room. He told fans she was having a rough time in labor.
“Tough labor… but my wife, is still fighting through it. She’s a warrior! Keep us in your prayers! #thegoldenchild is on the way,” he wrote on Instagram.com.
The baby is the first daughter for Remy, who also has a son named Jayson from a prior relationship. Papoose reportedly has three children from previous relationships.
Remy previously revealed she suffered a miscarriage at the beginning of 2017.
Remy and Papoose originally wed in 2008. They tied the knot again for reality TV after Remy served six years behind bars for assault, weapons possession and attempted coercion. She was released in August, 2014.
He LOVES that girl….its refreshing to see a man wear his heart on his sleeve like that…me on the other hand…i got trust issues…..after having relations with several wives and girlfriends, and then seeing their husbands/boyfriends wear their heart on their sleeves, and i be in the cut like “i just smutted your wife out last night” LMAO…….i couldnt do it
Pregnancy is always risky. Complications from pregnancy is not exclusive to women who deliver after the magical threshold age of 35. Teens who deliver tend the have a lot of complications also.
I wish her the best. Black women have 3rd world mortality rates in this country after giving birth regardless of income.
It’s not always risky.
It is riskier for some due to their general health, diet, age and medical history among other factors.
I wish her a speedy recovery. It’s tough going through something like this after having a baby.
Why is that? That is alarming.
Poor mommy. I’m glad the surgery went well and she’s on the way to recovery.
Dayum. And what’s their reasons for cheating if you don’t mind me asking?
Aww dang…what I miss been at my job’s end of year luncheon feedin’ my face. Bandanna Santana goin to jail..Cardi maybe got a show and Remy still in the hospital. Ok 1st babies after in your 30’s ain’t no joke and I wish her a speedy recovery. 2nd Juelz knew better than the leave that airport…made hisself look reeaaaalll guilty. 3rd Mona sat you azz down we canna take a whole 30 mins to an hour of Cardi B…ABSOLUTLELY NOT!!!
4. Ray and his wife are dumb asf..that’s all they just dumb asf!!
They don’t listen to us, some places don’t take our needs seriously.
I wanna know too!
I like her…GET WELL!
“The baby is the first daughter for Remy, who also has a son named Jayson from a prior relationship. Papoose reportedly has three children from previous relationships.”
Maybe her complications is nature’s way of saying, “enough already!”
Pregnancy is always risky for even the healthiest individuals. Hemorrhaging, preclampsia, pre term delivery, gestational diabetes, infection, breached births, etc, etc. Ive seen sickle cell patients have healthy babies and healthy women have cerclage.
Hope Remy recovers quickly. C section is no joke plus we are in our late 30’s so recovery will not be as easy.
Off topic, I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with it but do ya’ll think Papoose’s son, Shamele has sugar in his tank. I get those vibes from him. If he is, I have got to give it Pap, he seems to accept him and I commend him. Coming from Bed Stuy and being in the streets, it could be tough for fathers to accept that. Always liked Papoose way before the fame. The man preaches in his raps.

A paper I read on it said part of the problem is systematic racism and how the stress makes changes to our dna. And that racial bias in the healthcare community where they assume black women have super strength compared to white women.

Yup!
Yup!
EXACTLY.
EXACTLY.
That is so sad.
That is so sad.
This makes a lot of sense, especially the stress part. Cultural PTSD is real.

Or systemic racism dictates literally not valuing the life of black women and their babies, period. Basically, racist doctors don’t care if black women and their babies live or die. Racism is pure evil.

Um… his name Shamele lol -prolly so.
but i was thinking the same thing.
He is named after Papoose. Shamele Mackie is his real name. I like the name Shamele.
That’s why black women need to stop burdening their bodies with out of wedlock pregnancies. Just putting their bodies through all of that for some nucca that they barely know, let alone their legal hubby.
Yes please give them the education. It’s a reason why medical insurance for OBGYNs are the most expensive. There is no guarantee PERIODT!
I like them as a couple. Remy is cray-cray lol but at least she found a loyal black man, married him, and then had a child with him. Former convict or not, she’s one of the few black women that was able to do this.
I don’t think she had a C-section, another article said vag delivery.
Dogs have to be breed early on or they will rupture guess it’s the same with humans…
Something like this happened to an employee of mine, they had to go in and remove afterbirth and give her a transfusion due to the bleeding. I hope that’s all it was here.
Yeah, it’s crazy. The badges of slavery. Smh
You couldn’t do what? You already said you had a fiance .
I agree with that. Dont let you uterus be an incubator for a guy that don’t even want to commit to you. Then when you find a man who loves you your uterus be all worn out and your vag stretched out like a hallway. A man will love those stretch marks is he knows they are from his babies. He don’t want you are tiger stripped up because of the previous dude.
And the horrors of the Reconstruction Era and devastation of Jim Crow.
Thank you!
I stand corrected. Emergency surgery after giving birth. Thanks.
Get well soon Ma Ma!
WHO?!??
n p
Yes and Yes! I’ve been reading this book called The Color of Money: Black Banks and the Racial Wealth Gap. It’s eye opening. Are you hip to it? If not, I highly recommend it.
No problem ?
I have not read it but I will certainly look into it.
Ummm did she post that pic …..??? Eww whyyyy?? Gosh…smfh!! Awh gosh ppl do tooo much for attention…smh thats a pic u should have in some old personal photo album…
Wishing her a speedy recovery! I like them… He bought her a new truck as a push gift too
Thats not true hun! Dogs and humans are nothing alike in that department but u might be living proof im wrong….??..and secondly many women in their teens and twenties have suffured miscarriages, still births and complications after and during pregnancy! Genes, health, previous miscarriages can play a huge role in the state of your pregnancy…age isnt the highest factor…you have women whom have had multiple HEALTHY babies within their 30s!
Grown men don’t care about stretch marks no matter where they come from…. I first had them on the back of my thighs at 14yrs old from running track
?
Them stomachs look disgusting
Awww Remy, I’m praying for you. I love their black love. They adore each other.
I noticed that most tough acting chicks are always so soft with their men. They get so girly and soft around their men. Like Tami Roman, Teyanna Taylor. I like observing that type of things.
Yes like jeezus everything not meant to show off gross looking to me
I like them too.
No it doesn’t. Respect the pregnant belly. You came from one.
I have my first of four children at the age of 28 and I had my last child at the age of 38.
He leased a new truck, in my Ms. Sandra’s voice!!! ?????
Why? That’s what you put in a personal family photo album, I must really be old.
Doc say closer to 40 better chance kid will be retarded
Why don’t these people save the drama for their mama’s ? I guess nothing’s really real unless you share it on social media
She was out in the freezin cold jus to see a push present papoose got her like a day after the child was born…she thought she would snap back like these youngins, she needed to sit her butt home & relax…gabrielle union aint even push her own baby out & still relaxed
Did she have a c section?
Where his other kids ? this is a first…..
Not a Remy fan since she decided to attempt to murder another black woman over money … but I hope she recovers
Call me country but we still believe ya pores are open after giving birth lol. You are not to leave the house for 6-8 weeks unless you are taking the baby to the doctor. That’s it! These new school mothers will learn. Hope she recovers. Don’t like that pic for the public either.
Does she have on underwear?
You never hear about a man sticking by a woman through thick & thin, but he really has. I give him props for that.
L0l@ ya pores are open! Yep!
Thanks for the read!! What an eye-opener! *smh*
I better go do some yoga or something. Kick a few more things out of my life.
We are really stressed!

Yw! Right! Don’t let society lead you to an early grave. When I’m ready for kids Imma disappear to a cabin in the woods. Lol
? well it wasn’t a lambo so he might have dropped for it but who knooooows
Why? Why we gotta see her belly?
The photo, Just nature I guess, no need to hide huh
I’m confused by this picture.
My baby girl has them on her knees. She is 5’5/110 pounds but she grew 2 inches…in 90 days. ?
I was lucky. I birthed as a teen. No issues. Went back to school the next 2 weeks after, and graduated 25 days later.
2nd baby at 27 messed me UP tho??
Best wishes Remi. Pregnancy is no joke, I think people forget how dangerous it can be at any age.
I do…but Im cautious about professing my love for her to everyone, for the fear that she could be creeping and everyone knows it except me..then I be looking silly LOL
Get well soon Rem.
Make sure that baby is ok too.
Blessings and congrats to you and Pap
This sort of thing is not a game. People don’t realize how many women die each year from pregnancy delivery complications.
This Picture leaves Nothing to the imagination. The Picture is to much. Weres her huzband to dictate this photo.
I saw that too. Remy’s old enough to know better. I hope she’s okay, though.
Lmfao @ gabrielle union aint even push her own baby out & still relaxed
Lol
Natural birth.
Childbirth is real.
How many black women. US. Sistas.
Bandanna Santana? Yep, that’s him. ???
Truth, & nothing but. It’s literally become an epidemic. And, socio-economic status has nothing to do w/it.
Bless this family and congrats to them. ??
(Remy said y’all won’t speculate about the legitimacy of her pregnancy for the next 10 years – that ain’t no foldaway/foam belly up thurr !?)
Lawd ????! Many of us were wondering the same thing but because of the sensitive nature of the topic…
I hope she’s gonna be ok. I love her and papoose love.
?
My first one 39 ? no complications. Praise GOD!
Hell, that damn Bridgette Nelson had has like 5 or,6 children and just had another 1 at 55.. Those Viking women have some ssskkrrooong genetics. The average viking woman had between 12-17 In the ancient days
They say that happens when the pappy is old too.
That’s the sexist perceptions that the male dominated medical and research field wants women to believe. They want women to feel useless after a certain age but you never hear about all the defects from old sperm. Old men kids are born looking like Benjamin Buttons.
“Pores” aka ya Coochie!! LOL
I hope she is ok but why she gotta show herself like that?
??????Chileeeeeee folks don’t understand that the body needs time to heal internally. Get out there in that air and get fugged up if you want to. Plus they have the baby out in that air getting colic and ish.
Wow I would love to learn more about that. Blown away I got something new to read.
Don’t know about that it’s very common for men to have kids at an older age I
Myself just got two more but I made sure their moms was in their early 20s
The Center for American Progress reports, “African American women are three to four times more likely to die from childbirth than non-Hispanic white women, and socioeconomic status, education, and other factors do not protect against this disparity.
She looks like a teenage hood rat in that pic. Hope she’s okay.
this pic was before she gave birth
Sending light and love!!
Back in the day I loved her She went to jail and came out with the mindset that nothing has changed With the right people behind her she could be the one that doesn’t hv to hop on the assembly line and dress half naked. She tried when she got out but she should hv been polished & had her image set. She still thinking Big Joe is hot.
As long has the honeypot is hidden it’s fine. Now if she did a side naked pic she would hv to go before The Honey Pot Committee hv maybe a fine. And go back to the silver pot with Honey Crunch Cheerio & a tiny bit of honey.
I used to work in the NICU. And those lil babies would immediately get worked on. In the lil surgery room section we had. Tubes everywhere. But those babies were fighters.
Yep because you & the baby both need to take it easy. That’s when you can bond more. Or learn to breast feed. And as much as everybody want to see the baby. Take a pic, face time whatever but you as well need to limit who you come in contact with too.
That baby goes to the doctors & that’s it. Baby got on the big ass snow suit. Big Mamma going to wrap that baby up. Come home baby gets a bath to wash off the outside. I see them with those newborns barely covered. No shoes no hat..They just carrying that baby thru Walmart. (Thats where I saw it)×Then wonder why the baby is crying so much. With a fever.
I swear folks be showing too damn much …. ?
True! You don’t know what people’s true intentions are.
I hope all is well, but yes, she needs to stick wit the hair and makeup sorcery pics. I’m just sayin.
Sometimes keeping it real DOES NOT work!
I simply don’t want Onika seeing her like this but if shes okay with it I will tend to my own business.
The pic doesn’t bother me. IMO all she did was keep it her kind of real and take a pic to memorialize her pregnancy. No studio, veil, and background of fake flowers necessary. Take it back to the 90s Remy. So she received more than 1 transfusion? I wonder if they did an Emergency Hysterectomy? I just hope she stays well and they enjoy their baby.
I find this photo beautiful
I see women less clothed then this on the daily!
Wow, Tuesday a well known radio morning show congratulated Pap & Remy on the birth of their baby. They have not retracted it as of yet and today is Thursday.
Sending prayers….you got this Remy and Pap…..Also congrats to the addition to your family
Prayers Remi.. also I love this natural face..heavy makeup doesn’t add anything to you..
She looks pretty and feminine on this pic because she can look alittle hard sometimes congrats
Prayers to Remy,..CONGRATS!!! to Papoose and R.M. on the birth of their”GOLDENCHILD”‘. Peace&Blessings.
See… It’s a part of life
Oh. I asked cause I’m like htf she came home so fast lol
She birthing Nicki Son …..
Congrats and safe recovery, Remi.
There is something amiss with health care and black women giving birth. I had 3 births in my family this year and we all ended with Csections… when we all had none with our previous children. My mother gave birth to 4 children, naturally overseas decades ago without issues…. she had my last sibling in the US and was made to have a Csection. I delivered 2 months ago, with what I believe was misdiagnosed preeclampsia, as I had no symptoms other than pregnancy induced high BP that onset at 36 weeks… I was forced an induction, then given a drug “magnesium sulphate” to treat the “risk of seizure” … however this drug is also the drug used to stall labor in women who go into preterm labor (found out after the fact) which forced an emergency c sect as it confused my body and stressed my baby, as I was being induced and stalled at the same time. I spend 7 days in the hospital and had 2 blood transfusions …. My husband thought I was going to die because of the amount of blood I lost in surgery…. he said “they had you open for a long time”… learned later they had to stitch my bladder as it had a “weak spot”… they had to call and wait for an urologist while I laid opened … he got there, stitched my bladder, and said “just a weak spot” and left. I had no bladder issues prior to this and I believed they nicked my bladder while cutting into my uterus…. this I cannot prove after the fact.
I believe they created my situation as I meet none of criteria for pre E, other than being black and I’m not African American. Then mishandled my care. They wanted to continue pumping me with meds, by day 3, I said no more…. had Drs coming in telling me I’m risking my life and to trust them. I declined and was able to leave after an additional 3 days and my “clotting factor” stabilizing on its own without their “cryoprecipitate” and other blood products they tried pushing on me.
I left the hospital with a med schedule of narcotics and BP meds…. none of which I took and my BP has returned to normal on its own, 4 weeks postpartum. I was a healthy, vegetarian, and athletic woman with zero hospitilations, abnormal blood work, paps etc…. in my life. Im so uncertain about my future health and the unknown consequences of what they have given and done to me.
Ugh I hated when they I hate to get a blood transfusion because I lost so much blood during surgery. It’s so disgusting having someone blood put into your body. I was aski a millions questions. My main thing was to make sure that shit was ? clean!?
Get well soon Remy
Lol! I didn’t see that coming. But I think you are right
I don’t wish this in anybody. I JUST got out the hospital from complications from my c section. My uterus started hemorrhaging and I had to get blood transfusions too smh Get Well soon Remy!
I would rather a family member give it to me. I would too be asking questions like whose blood is this? What their character like? Are they black or white? Have they ever killed molested or hurt anyone? Lord I would prolly be going on to glory by the time I asked all my questions
Shoot I thought this was modest! Have you seen these new age maternity shoots? These womens is full on NUDE butt naked! Especially those ig thots and side chicks they want you to see it all so you don’t question the pregnancy
WOW! It’s really good that you were cognizant of what was going on. because we heard it from drs mouths. Black Women are treated differently. It’s a shame. I’m glad everything turned out ok for you.
Why did you need to get a C-Section?
Hang in there mama Bear! we love you and we praying for you and baby a papa papose!
praying for you mama bear! best wishes
oh yeah..im having this baby at home
blessings mama bear! thank you for sharing!
I can’t stand Remys pick me ass no more, but i sincerely hope she recovers well and congrats on the baby, b i t c h
And on the 10th day after having the baby you have to stay in bed all day so your bones can set back right (at least that’s what my grandma said). Girl my Mama didn’t play..that 10th day I was in bed all day while she and my grandmother and my kids father took care of the baby. They made my food and brought it to me…the whole nine. After the 10th day I was able to get up and resume daily chores and stuff. That setback ain’t no punk. My friend had one sitting in the drive thru of Burger King her whole body shut down…she couldn’t move, pee’d on herself and her kids father had to come get her and get her out of the car..she was driving around 4-5 days after giving birth chillin’…smh!!
Im sorry this happened 2 u, hope everything turns out great 4 u. God Bless.
I had 2 kids naturally i feel it was due 2 me listening and staying in tune with my body throughout the pregnancies (cravings, when 2 rest things like that) as well as not taking the pain epidural. But as nice as it ideally would be, i still had it tough and felt like i was gonna die several times. With my first pregnancy my baby came early at 29 wks & 3 days bec i had a random tear in my amniotic sac & went into labor. They stopped the labor repetedly bec i was going in and out 4 three days. Contrary 2 wat u may believe having a preemie was absolutely painful as hell, i almost gave in and took the epidural, but decided not 2. Was scared that it would cause respitory depression. She was on oxygen 4 one day. My second pregnancy was full term, but i almost got cut in the end bec baby wasnt positioned correctly. Doc turned her around at the last minute. Black aa woman doc btw. Common Denominators that i feel helped me deliver natural was 1. I did not take the epidural no matter how much pain i was in bec i wanted my body 2 open up naturally, 2. i also ate a fresh pineapple smoothie the day b4 which the white middle white part is known 2 jump start labor. Baby was due july 10 and came on the 9th as soon as i drank the smoothie, i started spotting 24 hrs later. Also, i am a calm person so maybe that helped. Its like u have 2 go all the way natural (no pain meds) in order 2 have baby natural. Sorry 4 the long post just fyi 2 be helpful.
??
I really didn’t want one but I was induced because he was so late and in labor for 36 hours and not progressing so I didn’t have a choice. It was not a good situation.
dying laughing….
Oh goodness. Well, it’s great that you are home now and I hope healing well!
prayers for her!!!
Especially on African American females
YES! Hell, they been using black women for experiments and unnecessary procedures since the time of that butcher, James Marion Sims.
If you don’t know who that motherfuker was, please look him up. Very interesting reading on this “pioneer” of women’s medicine….
A bad vaginal tear that wont’ stop bleeding, or a retained placenta, perhaps?
