Actress Rachel True, who co-starred in teenage cult favorite supernatural film The Craft, says she is being snubbed by Craft reunion conventions because of her race.
Rachel, 54, is best known (in the Black community) as Mona Thorne on the UPN sitcom Half & Half with Chico Benymon, Valarie Pettiford, Thelma Hopkins and Essence Atkins.
The actress took to Twitter.com last week to vent her frustration at not being invited to the unnamed conventions. Her Craft co-stars – Neve Campbell, Fairuza Balk, and Robin Tunney – were all invited to conventions.
“I think it’s interesting these conventions are booking Neve, Fairuza & Robin all together, but excluding me. Sounds about white,” she tweeted on January 25. “Maybe it’s just an oversight but…I mean.. it’s a film about 4 f*cking girls not 3.”
In another tweet she wrote, “I’m not calling out any one convention in particular because it’s more than one & they don’t realize the casual racism to the choice. So if you attend those sorts of things let them know.. especially if you’re with, I guess.”
While some of her followers defended her, others point out that Rachel is not Black. She is mixed race. Her father is Jewish and her mother is mixed with Black and American Indian.
Rachel replied to one Twitter user who accused her of being self-absorbed.
“This is not about self-absorption. It’s about racism, parity & [money] speaking up is costing me $ but may help younger folk coming up down the line achieve those things.”

For the one trillionth time. Racism IS NOT going away. It is getting worse. I am not saying don’t deal with it as it affects you but I, for one, get so tired of hearing racism attached to everything from buying toothpaste to walking down the street and social media does not enlighten it, rather it heightens it. Don’t keep giving racism your energy and maybe just maybe one day when we’re long gone so will racism.
Black is black. Most Americans have a variety of ethnicities in their family. She still wont get work in Hollywood, she should still be scared of the police and she still needs grease in her hair, she black
IRONICALLY her character in the Craft was bullied for being black.
She hasn’t aged well. At 54, she needs to find a better way to make money than conventions. Sure it’s racist. But that’s America. Posting on Twitter is not going to put money in her pockets.
Welp she needs to blame her mammy and pappy for her race.
2. She’s not a good actress.?????
3. I’m tired of these mixed race folks crying about finding g their identity and blah blah blah. ? Blame your parents PERIOD!! Not Society!
This is so sad! I commend Rachel for speaking out. She has a right to.I LOVED “Half & Half”.
?
Damn y’all don’t give two shits about her huh lol
I used to love Half & Half. That show was hilarious to
me.
You must be trolling…because surely you are not that simple-minded, are you?
Cry me a river! Biracial people play their mix card, hoping to gain an advantage. Then when it doesn’t work, they start crying racism. Halle Berry has done this better than anybody else.
Surely you must be a mutt I offended some how. ?????????????
Y’all may want to turn off FaceTime in your settings now. There is a bug which allows people to hear you and see video without you answering.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2019/01/28/apple-facetime-bug-lets-you-listen-even-if-someone-doesnt-answer.html
She has a right as she’s losing out on potential earnings!
Her profession is so flakie and biased!
Jordan Dunn spoke out, after being excluded from Victoria Secret show when Kenner and Hadid models were first showcased at the time! Now I see Jordan getting more and more work!
I know I get tire of people calling out racist acts or their perception of it, but to each his own!
Humans are mutts?!? Ouch
Halle has always claimed her blackness and proudly at that.
Halley berry’s mom was honest with her about race she is the most balanced black biracial actress I Know and she identifies strongly as black and she claims that for her daughter as well which is the reason why her baby daddy was pissed and giving her grief
She needs to get a good agent..
Thank you…
Do any of you think white people care if someone is mixed? They don’t give af they will be treated like any other black person?
Somebody tell her to go have the seat she been havin ?.
i mostly agree with this about bi-racials and this is solely from my own personal experience,BUT, what does this have to do with her saying she is excluded from these events though? Rachel has always seemed cool to me, and what she is saying can be proven
Halle claimed her blackness because it was convenient for her career. Early in her career, that’s where all of her roles and support came from. It was to her benefit to play her black card.
Because most biracial people only care about racism, when it hits them in the face. Most of them try to constantly fly under the radar.
We are treated like shit by both races; white and black.
Not a good read.
No clue why “mixed” is always a topic of debate and who’s deserving of blackness. That woman is BLACK. We’re the same color and I know I’m black, no mixture. If she’s intentionally being left out she should say something. Nothing wrong with that.
I am only defending people and causes that have served my community. If you have been racially and politically fluid or A-political……kick rocks.
Maybe she was a PITA to work with the first time around.
If you have to tell people you’re mixed…she’s black though.
Exactly!! Sure she wasn’t complaining when she was chosen over full blavk womam without ambiguous features. Blacks should know all to well about putting bi racials on a pedestal in the black community!! They black when it’s convenient for them. Most will tell you they are not black they are mixed but blacks want to force them to be black. Miss me with the one rule s*** because a bi-racial is not seen full rave by thier other race. so if someone is half black and half Chinese they are mixed because they cannot be Chinese alone but, blacks will definitely say oh they’re black when they don’t even want to be acknowledged as that lol.
You are crazy, lol.
Aw Rachel. New hairdo?
Maybe she’s just a bitch??????
Maybe she’s just a bitch??????
What’s that supposed to mean, that mixed race people can’t be discriminated against? Classic whitesplaining.
Neve Campbell who identifies as Native American should not be doing these conventions because they are discriminating against Rachel! Rachel is being discriminated against because as the mixed race girl she was the stand out in the series and the white girls envied her. Shame on the conventions and their racism.
There’s nothing wrong with her natural hair.
This woman is not playing a mixed card, She was cast to star in a tv show in 90’s. She was one of four stars on the show. If these reunion conventions are only hiring her three white co-stars, then she is right to stand up and she needs to sue.
Most full black people act cowardly when it comes to standing up to racism and will stand by while other black folks get oppressed. Some of the greatest freedom fighters for black rights have been mixed including Rosa Parks and Harry Belafonte, and countless others.
Halle Berry is not black.
She needs a lawyer because she is facing clear cut discrimination and needs to sue the conventions.
Who cares its racism. To white people she is black.
She may not be playing the race card, and probably is being discriminated against. My point is that most biracial peolpe, only call out racism when it directly affects them. Often times they align themselves with their non black side, and fly under the radar.
That’s my point exactly. They acknowledge their blackness or racism, when their forced to. Most of the time they choose to fly under the radar.
I wouldn’t say a word I’d hire pitbull in a skirt Esq. Gloria Alfred ?
Its irrelevant what neve identifies as… She looks white. They should all stand together and demand her inclusion if you ask me…fair is fair. But life’s not fair….
My thoughts exactly.
I still watch it till this day……
IMHO….she has every right to speak on how SHE feels!
Oh lawd.
OT: If you live in NYC can you tell me why? I often read the NY papers and it seems like Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, are hellholes. Expensive, loud, smelly. What is the attraction?
https://nypost.com/2019/01/28/uws-tenants-new-homeless-residents-are-making-life-a-living-hell/
Rachel is 54?
I swear they going so hard on her in these comments lol
Her wiki bio doesn’t mention any NA lineage. Both her parents are from Europe.
When I see pictures or footage of the fight for civil rights, past or present, I see full Black people taking a stand, so I don’t know how calculated that most act cowardly. Rosa Parks was chosen to be the face of the bus boycott, after a Black teenage girl first refused to give up her seat to a white man and was arrested. Parks had a better reputation. According to Eartha Kitt, Harry Belafonte said “There wasn’t anything a Black woman could do for him. A Black woman would hold a Black man back. “
Agree!! There are so many faces of biracial and the way you are identified by others is the skin you are in. Period.
Yes, I saw that this morning!! Yikes!!
Facts!
?
I’m confused. How does she know it’s because of her race? Maybe she was difficult to work with and they just did not want her there. In the back of my mind I kind of remember her pulling the race card before. I could be wrong but….. *shrugs*
!!!!!!!
The one black person in the group just happened to be the one who’s “difficult to work with”? Maybe… but that sounds like that would be a convenient excuse to me.
Neve is a Canadian Jew
Exactly. This artice is not about “most biracial peope”. It’s about one person and her experience.
Sandra, Jewish is not a race so that’s irrelevant.
?… Don’t come crying when you get your reality check.
Ancestry has me down as being part European Jew (race classification).
Well, I’m glad she brought it up. These fan conventions are something else, you can count the number of POC’s attending so I can just imagine the behind the scenes crap.
MIXED race?? Aren’t we all!!
We all running around here like Tiger Woods and don’t know it!
It has to be deeper that that. The other girls has to be signed to a booking agency (via their managers), and presented as a package. The other girls agreed to this package, not the venues. This has “Problem Person” written all over it…
No dear I don’t have to. I work diligently on behalf of ADOS. I’m good.
This is America https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/e545cbc8dcec98e818418b99a3310dd3b106c714005b27ae5c1399437c3219aa.gif
But honestly though, the narrative of the blog post is totally different from True’s social media feed.
L0l! They kinda are. Light skin, kinky hair. Black…but not claiming it out loud.
but who r U reeeally?
I am not getting it. What are you stating?
I hear you but difficult is difficult regardless of race. I hope someone from the show speaks up because inquiring minds want to know!!
People love to deflect. If she says she is Black, it is because she is being treated as such.
Next point, she said she found out because Fairuza Balk told her.
No, it does not. Casual racism happens all the time. She is an established actress. You never hear anything negative about her. I am going to ride with her on this one.
I loved living in NY!! The draw was access to everything in a city that never sleeps and I was desensitized to the “ugly” side that non-NYers saw. Now that I am in CT when I visit the city I kind of see the underbelly, however I would move back tomorrow but my husband thinks it’s “expensive, loud and smelly” like you described.
L0l! I’m looking at your avi.
If that’s you…you look more South side Chicago, Compton or Atlanta Jew than Eastern European.
That’s dude from green mile Michael Clark Duncan ?
IT IS?! Nawww…
That’s what I thought!! LOL!!
I went once during Memorial day weekend and it was sleep…almost snoring. But we still had a good time.
I wouldn’t want to live there full time, but maybe a $2m condo to visit would be nice.
It all depends on where you are, you have to “know” where to go. Seriously, a lot of the “IN” places cannot be “seen” It’s hard to explain but if you visit with an insider, trust me, it never sleeps
Sandra you are off to the races
with the race issue aren’t you?
That’s what happened! We met a girl who showed us around.
Yes! Whether growing up sheltered has their minds altered as to whether racism affects them, especially if they have a white mom or self hating black father, that’s a different discussion, but we ALL as blacks face discrimination daily and i’m not going to use her being mixed to dismiss her claims of being looked over. Her story line was the best after Sarah’s anyway.
Lol you can’t recognize him?
You got me there sis! I guess there are insiders and “insiders” :-))
So why is it that black people are always picking up the scraps that white people don’t want?
oh riiiggghhhtt…..she also played on Half Baked…..I did not remember who she was until I scrolled down to her younger pic…..I have always loved her hair….thats all I got.
Bless her heart ?
Rachael sure has been feeling a kind of way towards the industry lately.
We left her at 4:00am and she wasn’t planning on going home til 5 or 6!
We left her at 4:00am and she wasn’t planning on going home til 5 or 6!
Lemme go eat my eggs, sausage, pancakes, mango juice, latte, shrimp & grits, cheese toast and I’ll get back with you.
Lemme go eat my eggs, sausage, pancakes, mango juice, latte, shrimp & grits, cheese toast and I’ll get back with you.
I always loved her hair on Half & Half. Rachael looks good for 54.
I always loved her hair on Half & Half. Rachael looks good for 54.
I find it hypocritical when a mixed race individual use white privilege to boost her career, then she pulls the race card when her career dies.
If they don’t want nothing to do with you, just move on. If she gets invited now, it will be out of pity.
Both of my parents are Black.
????… Didn’t mean you. That’s why I liked your post and put the thumbs up in there.
I haven’t seen Rachel in forever!… It’s so sad that we’re back to this blatant racism again! Smdh!… She doesn’t need them to boost her career anyway!… Move on girl!
It’s crazy how they wanna tell mixed kids they not Black in 2019. All it took was a drip back in the day and your ass was Black. Look at her skin tone, She’s a Black woman.
Skin tone does not make her Black. She has a Jewish father and a mixed Black/Indian mother. Should we ignore her white father and Indian mother to appease people who refuse to let the archaic “one-drop rule” go by the wayside?
Co-sign!!!!!! It’s all good though. Just made me stronger
Yes, most of us whose family when through slavery are mixed race, it you want to get technical. This mixed race nonsense is being used as a divide and conquer tactic. End of story. Who in this world is pure anything!!!!!
Out of Jamaica…..where there was enslavement and a mixing of the so-called races….
How do you know she used white privilege?
No. We shouldn’t ignore it. She’s absolutely all of that, but she wasn’t excluded from the convention because she’s Jewish. She’s being excluded because she’s Black.
..and if she said, “I’m Black”. Why would anyone correct her and say, “no.” She IS Black.
I guess you know ALL mixed race people in the world to be able to speak on their behalf about what they do or don’t do.
So true. As an aside, not all your skin folk are your kin folk. There are many dark skinned Black people who don’t give a shit about Black people. At all. Met quite a few in my life. So miss me with this divide and conquer crap about skin color. We are ALL mixed. Most people have at least one mixed ancestor somewhere….Stop falling for this divisive tactic.
I didn’t say all mixed people, I said most. I knew my comments would have people feeling some kind of way ?
Mary Jane
Thank you!! Plus this was the fifties and sixties….white people were really on their sh*t. That I’m mixed stuff got no play from them. Black people all across the color spectrum had to stick together. However, since the ciivil rights movement, white people are not as direct with their racisim.
She is A WOMAN OF COLOR point blank. Racist don’t see her Jewish side. They see her skin color and hair texture. She has a right to identify as she pleases
????
Exactly!
??
Sad you have colorism issues. Love the skin your in and embrace all colors of black…..
??????
shes 54?????????
Mutt? no that’s a name reserved for the people created you. And I’m not offended, but I am astounded by your vapid, vacuous, moronic, and unintelligible take.
So sick of these 5 dollar Indians.
Just drank a whole bottle of water and doing squats as we speak.
How do you know that ‘most’ mixed race people do what it is you said they do? Are you going to tell me that you know most of the mixed race people on the planet?
Hasn’t aged well. Are we looking at the same picture?
i know right??? WOW!
sorry she’s not black…i mean she isn’t even biracial…
the one drop rule was created by white supremacists to enforce the hierarchy of whites and to prevent biracials from inheriting their white father’s wealth. mixed is not black.
You know a lot black people claim anyone who “looks” black. Although many of those same people, don’t want to be identified as black.
When did blatant racism ever end. Its always been here and not going away.
Why do Black people always feel a need to dismiss white people and their passive racism. We know white people and their generational behavior. There’s no such thing as deeper than that when it comes to them. It’s not a coincidence.
Agreed. Some one said she’s not aging well. She’s looks all of 35 to me.
I’ve been called difficult by white people my entire life. I’m the most relaxed, easy going, get along with everyone, laid back person you’ll ever meet.
Have yall seen Celine Dion lately???
I live in Brooklyn. Some people just prefer a fast paced urban living situation. Even when I travel I prefer the more fast paced metro cities over hillsides. I don’t notice all the other negatives until outsiders force my attention on it. It can be a little tedious though. I will leave at some point but being here for almost 20 years it will be difficult to adjust. Who knows where I’ll end up next.
Actually they’re not. Blonde haired, blue eyed Scarlett Johannson (sp) is Jewish. That’s white skin, not light skin and nothing kinky about that hair. And Ethiopia is filled with Jews who are not the same race as Harvey White Privilege Weinstein .
And Sandra, Rachel True was born November 15, 1966 so unless you have receipts to show otherwise…..can we get some factual information with our tea?
It’s a WHACK thing NOT a “BLACK thing”… when you’re the 4th cast member..no one is putting out that extra cash to fly you in.
Ain’t no such thing as biracial , You are what your mother is you can only create what you are . You guys really should study history before u go labeling people its no such thing as race we are all energy beings some with a soul and some without ….
You’re absolutely right!… It just seems that for a hot MINUTE there… SOME people were trying to at least HIDE how they really feel… but now there’s no filter and I guess no more affirmative action either since Chump’s been in office!… Smdh!
Networking is how you make money and expand your visibility (which again affects your earning power). This isn’t something that she can afford to ignore. The film is about 4-girls. Rachel’s ethnicity was a major plot in the film. Who could forget the curse that was put on blonde Becky for referring to Rachel’s curls as pubic hair? Each woman in the film was an outcast in some way -Rachel’s character was meant to draw attention to how black women are marginalized and treated as outcasts. I’m doubly offended that she wasn’t included in ANY conversation, convention, or whatever, that involves that film. As should Rachel…
She’s a black woman, we have it harder in Hollywood. Plus I’m sure her age makes it equally easier to discriminate against her…
What white privilege? Rachel is darker than most black ppl I know, with a kinkier hair texture. Exactly what privilege did she benefit from? Rachel has other social media posts where she talks about the discrimination she faced during the peak of her career. You really need to read more of her posts to get a better understanding of where she’s been and where she’s coming from.
Exactly! Stop looking to give these racists a pass on their racism. There’s no excuse and there’s definitely no separate agreement otherwise the girl who told Rachel would have added that little tidbit as well. Its wrong.
The DNA testing for most “black Americans” says we are all 75-80% African. We’ve all been “diluted” to some degree because of chattel slavery
Let’s roll it back. I made a time reference in my comment to relate it to acts of racism and it got lost in translation. The article says someone responded to Rachel saying she was Black and commented, “you’re not Black. You’re mixed.”
Yes, she is Black. She is also Jewish. That’s what being “mixed” (for her) means.
If I was Italian and Puerto Rican and wrote that I was Puerto Rican, whose gonna tell me I’m not Puerto Rican because I’m mixed? If she said “I’m Jewish,” would you tell her she’s not? ..so why is she not Black?
The only thing white supremacy has to do with this is, back in the day they didn’t accept mixed kids as being white, only Black …and discriminated against them the same as they did pure Africans. Now in 2019 y’all are trying to erase the racism by saying “she’s not Black,” but that’s incorrect.
No, this is racially motivated. Rachel cited some racialized exclusions that happened during the original press junket for this film. A lot of “misunderstandings” and “mishaps” that focused on her specifically and no one else.
We really shouldn’t have to explain and justify the overt. We know the tactics and we know the games. Pleading ignorance or trying to be open minded amongst a sea of racists hurts us. Nothing can be gained by trying to see it from other avenues.
No…why?
Yep. It’s a dog whistle. When they are intimidated by you, jealous of you, or just don’t like you – they use that dog whistle line “she’s difficult” to hurt your career. It’s malicious, underhanded, and sneaky. It’s important to know the signs and act accordingly. These racists rarely divert from the playbook.
How do you know she hasn’t? What props does she get for providing visibility to other women of color? Not to mention the behind the scenes backbiting racism that Hollywood loves to display to women of her skin tone and hair texture? Support isn’t always visible. Sometimes we need to rally around the individuals in Hollywood who endure the most overt racism just to be scene on your screen. I support Rachel because I understand it’s not easy to look the way that she looks and find consistent acting gigs. Also, if you take a moment to review some of her posts you will see how vocal she’s been against racism and how hard she works to fight against it.
Must be more to her not being invited. Playing the race card is not enough proof for me.
Mixed means you are what you’re mixed with. It doesn’t mean you’re not what you’re mixed with. White supremacists saying they are Black wasn’t wrong. It was denying that they were also white that was wrong, so that they could deny their inheritance (by your example).
She looks like the walking dead ?
My own nephew is Mexican and Black. He told me, “I’m Mexican.” By your logic, I’m supposed to tell him “No you’re not. You’re mixed.” He is Mexican is a fact.
This is true….black people can be just as bad. I dealt with it my whole childhood.
And how does a Black person use white privilege exactly? White privilege is conferred to someone by those with the privilege.
Like a lot of folks outchere
I don’t base how I define myself or others on how white people define us/them. She’s biracial and that’s okay. And many white people can tell she’s not all the way Black. We need to stop lying about them not telling the difference.
Thank you! I thought I was the only one who knew this part of the movie. The creators of the film took the time to write about what would happen if a Black/biracial girl attended an all-white high school. Whatever she’s going through now has nothing to do with the actual film.
Dark skin is black no matter what the backdrop genetics are. Melanin is melanin. And it’s very powerful. Melanin, water and the sun creates this life we are in. That’s why certain people are so mad. You can’t survive or continue to reproduce without it.
My post stated the parameters of my support. The reason I did not address her particularly is because I don’t know the details of her grievance, her politial views or her activism. Additionally, i am unfamiliar w/her or the film. This post doesn’t provide enough info to either support or rebuff her claim. Once again, I require context before I set it off.
PEOPLE. We all come from black people as in EVERYONE. Some people are just much lighter graphs. Some people acknowledge this to be true & others ignore it so that’s why people are so stuck on how someone ‘looks’ which is sad
OMG….Celine could stand behind a needle and not be seen!
Actually, yes. He is mixed and there’s nothing wrong with that. The bigger questions is why don’t mixed people just say they are mixed? There should be no shame in it. LTEC is right, the one drop rule is rooted in white supremacy, and should no longer be practiced, and at THIS point in time it’s hindering BLACK folks…it’s not doing us any favors.
She’s mixed race and people should be willing to accept that as well. What’s wrong with her saying she is mixed? Why falsely claim to be a black woman? And to be honest, we don’t know why she’s not invited to the conventions, there may be some other sh*t going on behind the scenes with these women personally. Everyone knows she was a main character in the movie so for her to be excluded is quite noticeable. I’m willing to bet it’s more than just the color of her skin.
Not going along with the race card on this one. She’s a main character. People would absolutely notice her missing from the cast at a convention, honoring the cast. Something else is up.
That’s how I will always remember her!
Maybe they were only inviting real talented actress
She probably demanded more money than the other women to appear.
Of course they can tell but do they care…nope…
I have often disagreed with you but i can’t recall ever feeling that something you said was ridiculous.
First time for everything, eh Sandra?
Sandra has a huge problem with anything lighter than a Hersheys bar, hair <4b or anybody who has any non black heritage.
It's a glaring fact that i just choose to overlook. Used to it.
I for one hate this discussion of whether a biracial person is “black” or not because I am biracial (my father was black and my mother is white) and I have always identified as black. I’m not saying that with this particular issue regarding Rachel True there is a lot of hate, but I have noticed (on this forum especially) that there seems to be a lot of hate cast towards the mixing of races and whether a mixed person can identify with black or not. I believe identity is up to that person. If a mixed person does not identify with their black roots, that’s on them. I for one, as I’ve already mentioned, have always identified with my black side more than my white side. It’s undeniable for me because I am completely immersed in black culture, black art, black music, etc. and have always been even when I was a child.
Now, to the issue at hand in this article. I believe Rachel when she says she’s been excluded. I’m not familiar with the particular project that she is referring to in this instance, but I’ve gathered that she was a main cast member of the project. Racism is definitely alive and well today, as we all know. I’ve been to several Comic Cons and there often aren’t a lot of black talent/fans present. I loved Rachel in “Half & Half” so I hope everything works out in her favor.
Maybe she was not invited because they did not end on good terms after the film. If she behaved badly, an invitation was not coming. Blaming things on race is a cop out, which is why it dilutes when race is truly the issue.
Why is it that people are still not getting things right about race / genetics / and ethnicity. She is mixed race and thnicity. Her ethnicity is a blend of jewish/indian/black/white. Her race is a blend of black and white.
Her phenotype (what we see) is a mix of black/indian. We see no white in her. People tend to identify with how they appear to the world so she identifies as black but rightfully can claim all the others even if she didn’t look it. If anyone has a problem with that, it’s your problem, not hers. She is part of all those things from her parents.
Sandra does not have a glaring problem with non-Black heritage. I am proud of my chocolate skin and my African roots. There’s nothing wrong with taking pride in my Black heritage. If I was mixed race, I would take pride in both of my parents’ races.
Yeah, I’m just not buying the whole “black” thing…it sounds like a BS excuse for sympathy.
That font is a yt racist.
You are not what you mother is! That is a lie! Stop spreading false information. Even from a scientific stand point that doesn’t make anysense! You are what your father is. Having a black mother doesn’t make you black! In order to be a black person you have to come from both a BLACK FEMALE EGG CELL AND A BLACK MALE SPERM CELL. You’re gonna sit here and try to convince people a woman with a whole white man for a father is black? Solely because her mother is partially black!? YOU CAN’T BE SERIOUS! You and the rest of the fools that buy into that crap are ridiculous. A woman can only produce a female child on her own. A FEMALE CHILD THAT LOOKS LIKE HERSELF. She can’t produce any male children with out the help of a male sperm cell. Nor can she produce children with different genetic codes with out the assistance of a MALE SPERM CELL!.
I don’t know how you’re mixed with Puerto Rican since it’s an island. Puerto Ricans can be a variety of races/ racial mixtures. Some look like JLo, some look like Denzel, others look like Sidney Poitier, etc…
54? She looks amazing. I had no idea she was in her 50’s
Now where did you cull this bit of data since to my knowledge, most Black Americans haven’t done DNA testing
Caribbean blacks have a higher percentage of African blood than their American brothers and sisters. If you noticed most Caribbean blacks look straight out of Africa. Have you seen most Haitians? Yes there are mixed ones but the majority retained their blackness. Unlike the black people in the Americas. Look at Jamaican reggae artist. Do the majority of them look mixed to you!? No! They look like straight up Africans. Most Jamaicans are dark skin with wooly kinky hair. Have you ever heard of the Maroons in Jamaica? They’re a non mixed group that retained their African roots and blood. The majority of black Jamaicans don’t have any add mixture or very little.
They fail to realize that non American Caribbean blacks are not as heavely mixed like the American blacks. They assume all black people that were involved in slavery are mixed. Not knowing that a lot of or ancestor did not mix with white people.
Look woman you are not a Goddess if you don’t know that Mothers were creating children without a man with a process called pathegenisis , look it up and you will learn today …..A W hite woman can only make what she is a white child . You suppose to be woke but you are still caught up in that shit you get your race from the father and that is a lie , like everything else we been taught , learn Indigenous history before you go sprouting out knowledge , so that suppose to make you sound smart because you are speaking about genetic codes. Every race came from a black Mother anybody else is a mutation of the Indigenous people .Go study our real History and Culture … Love and Light
Listen here. Black men and women are both Gods and Goddesses. I am not one to buy into the woman is God garbage. It goes against nature and the natural laws of the universe. The divine is made up of both masculine and feminine energies. Not just feminine. THERE’S NO BALANCE IN THAT! Ying and Yang. Logical and emotional. You can’t have one with out the other. The divine feminine needs her divine masculine. The universe recognizes both genders not just one. Both women and men carry both masculine and feminine energy. Stop spreading nonsense.
How can u have all this knowledge and not no that Mothers was making babies wirhout men by process of pathogenisis , I know they have these agents on here .The Creator gave a Mother a very important job because she could create both genders . if your father is so important why any important documents they ask your mother maiden name ? Your father dont even havet to be on your birth certificate ….Your mother was the first one you saw when u opened your eyes , and she carry milk in her body so she could sustain u . I am done believe what u want . nobody knows everything and like I said if you cant disprove what I say . jus keep it moving Love and Light
I said in my first comment THAT A WOMAN CAN ONLY PRODUCE A FEMALE CHILD, WITH OUT THE ASSISTANCE OF A MALE SPERM CELL. I’M WELL AWARE THAT A WOMAN CAN HAVE A CHILD WITH OUT THE ASSISTANCE OF A MAN, BUT SHE CAN ONLY PRODUCE FEMALE CHILDREN! DID YOU SKIP OVER THAT PART!? SHE CAN NOT PRODUCE MALE CHILDREN WITH OUT THE HELP OF A MAN! EITHER WAY WOMEN AND MEN STILL NEED EACH OTHER. I SAID WTF I SAID.
This is not true the Indigenous Mothers was the first on the planet and their was no men , she created them for her own personal reason protection and love . keep studying ….Love and Light
That’s untrue. So a person who an Asia mixed with White vs Black and White vs Mexican and Black …in you’re eyes it’s not right for them to say they’re anything other than “mixed”? You’re wrong. …and because you feel it doesn’t help Black people? They can say whatever applies to any given situation. If someone wonders how my nephew knows Spanish, he can say because I’m Mexican. If Rachel felt she was excluded based on the color of her skin, she can say they’re not inviting me because I’m Black. And WHENEVER THEY feel it’s relevant to go in depth, the can say my mother is this and my father is that. It’s their truth. They don’t have to say mixed to make you feel better about what you believe it means to be you.
Look no offense if your mixed, but I see mixed raced people as just that, nothing more, nothing less. You can pull the whole “race is a state of mind, or social construct” nonsense if you like though.
Lol
I see. What you’re taking about is “how you choose to see it.” You’re not going by the scientific fact that genetically people are what they’re mixed with. There’s a great amount of people who only identify as African American (Black) and are genetically “mixed” because of slavery. I’m personally about 14% Irish, because my grandmother was mixed. I don’t identify as mixed. I’m African (Black).
She’s a hater….all day everyday. She’s five years older than the President’s wife.
No, you wish you were black. Listen if you have a parent that is not the same race as your other parent, your mixed. What is the damn big deal with that?
In every country where African and Indigenous people were enslaved, most would have at least one person in their lineage of mixed race parentage whether it shows or not in today’s time. There are Black, Indian, Chinese and white people in the Caribbean. People mix under all systems. Also, just to note, just because someone is of the darker range of Black skin tone does not mean they are in support of Black people. I think people discover this at some point in their lives.
Yes, please & thank you for educating the masses.
hmm well we still can’t ignore that stuff like this still goes on in the industry…the did it to her before too
54 where ?
Slavery started as well as ended in the Caribbean first. Most mixed people from the Caribbean are NOT mixed through slavery. Some are mixed due to breeding with the people around them. While others are mixed from slavery. If you look at the black population in Jamaica , you’ll notice that the majority look west African. They’re not all mixed. The mixed ones are either mixed with Asian (Chinese), east Indian or white. They got that way due to other people coming to the island as slaves and or for work. I suggest you learn the history of slavery in the Caribbean (Jamaica in this case) before you start talking about what you don’t know.
I do know some of the history of the Caribbean. My parents are from the Caribbean. During the hundreds of years of slavery in the Caribbean, many a mixed person was born. Not uncommon for slave women to bare a child for their owner(s) So whether mixed during or after slavery, many people of the Caribbean have at least one member in their lineage who is mixed.
I do know what I am speaking of. I do know some, as each country has its own story, of the history of the Caribbean. During the hundreds of years of slavery, many a mixed person was born to an enslaved woman by her owner(s). Many. Many people of the Caribbean have at least one mixed person in their lineage. Just because you know about Jamaica does not mean you can extrapolate to the other Caribbean islands. I speak from knowledge of my family’s Caribbean history.
She looks good for 54…so that jew blood ain’t took over yet, lol (see Jasmine Guy).
Let me say I would be one of the FIRST folks calling out pecks on their racism….but I don’t know if that was the reason why she was excluded. I wouldn’t doubt it but why though? That would be STUPID to me and probably the fans that liked the movie. She was the one that made that Marcia Brady look-a-like go bald, lol. My favorite scenes in the movie!
At any rate, Rachel is MIXED. IDGAF what she identifies with, GENETICALLY, she is mixed….BUT in this part of the world, that one drop rule mentality simply won’t die. Oh well…maybe she should reach out to Nancy and ‘nem, conjure up Manol and put a spell on the organizers of the event.
stupid.
stupid
u sound so cray cray. sperm comes from dad which means a lot
You really dont have a clue ….Melanted Goddess knows a lot but needs to study more u on the other hand is a zombie ….Thank You I am glad I sound cray cray thats a compliment because this place is upside down…Love and Light
As you should Sandra.
No love lost though, it is what it is.
Mutant
The law differentiates it for them though lol
Guess they’re staying true to the plot ?
Stop, black folks love them some chilren especially with light eyes.
Exactly. The only place mixed kids get bullied by blacks is in the stone cold ghetto.
Whatever do you mean?
You’re making a big deal out of it. Not me. I don’t wish to be Black. My family is Black. Even the elders on my mother’s side who were mixed were raised as Black children brought up in the struggle of Black culture with other Black children and married Black.
Since you’re posing as if you represent the “politically correct.” “Black” is a just label. That’s not who you are. None of us are really “Black”. Our ancestors where from COUNTRIES in Africa. “Black” and “African American” applies to African descendants of SLAVERY. THAT’S WHY I identify as Black, because I come from them.
Africans who come over here aren’t African Americans. They are Ethiopian Americans, and so forth from the country (not continent) they came from. “Black” is simply a label attached to US by white supremacists. 100% Africans and mixed Africans are labeled “Black”.
You’re not even coming at me correctly with your condescending approach of disapproving how I identify MYSELF. I’ve seen my genealogy report. I am mostly African. Have you seen yours? Are you 100% African? IF you’re even 1% of anything else, then you are mixed. If you are, how you chose to identify YOURSELF is up to you. By your standards there are a lot of people out here thinking they’re Black but they’re not because they’re mixed and don’t know it or don’t know what they’re mixed with because of slavery.
You can take your seat now, unless you wanna tell me how African you are and by which country and tribe your family belongs to. Whatever you are, I don’t wish to be YOU nor mask my true identify with your own. I am what I am. I’m good with it.
Too long didn’t read, but good luck. ?
No luck needed. That’s on you. I’m good.
She is right…
Halle Berry doesn’t play the mixed card. She identifies as black and she identifies her children as black. She and her children are not black but Halle’s white mother raised her on the slavemaster created one drop rule theory.
Not true. Variety of ethnicities is not the same thing as born of direct interracial and mixed race parentage.
A lot of Natives look white but they are not and they do not pass. If Neve promotes herself in press as Native she should be held accountable for colluding with this racism. I don’t care if she’s blonde blue eyed or the color of snow she needs to be called out.
She is of Native American heritage. She has spoken about it. And if she is also a Jew then I will still hold her accountable that she needs to be called out for colluding with racism. Too many people get off easy colluding with racism. If the conventions excluded Jews, the whole country would be out protesting those conventions. But black people and everyone else has every excuse in the book from picking apart hair texture to white parent to skin color to stand by and justify these conventions straight up discriminating against this woman because she’s mixed race.
Everybody called her the black girl on the Craft. She made the show. She is what distinguished that show from Charmed and the other white girls shows of that ilk. Then they’re going to exclude her? She needs to get a lawyer. And Neve and her costars need to be shamed for co signing racism.
I don’t care to include Neve. I care to hold people accountable for colluding with blatant racism.
You don’t care to include Neve in what?
Called out for what? Everyone needs to be held accountable they worked on the film together…
I agree 100%
Dang right it did.
What’s a race card?
