Kodak Black is blaming technology for his recent arrest on the U.S., Canadian border on Wednesday. The troubled rapper was arrested along with three men when border patrol officers stopped their car as they entered the U.S.
According to TMZ, Kodak, 21, was released on $20,000 cash bond and he hid his face behind a stack of money on his way out of the jail.
Kodak said he and his entourage were on their way from Detroit to Boston, Massachusetts, where he was booked to perform at the House of Blues.
He said the car’s GPS navigation system gave the wrong directions and put them on a road through Canada.
As they attempted to reenter the United States from Canada, the Cadillac Escalade he was riding in was pulled over by the New York State Police.
A strong odor of marijuana wafting from the Caddy gave the officers probable cause to search the Cadillac and another vehicle traveling with them.
Police recovered three unregistered handguns and enough weed to open a small dispensary.
Kodak, whose legal name is Bill K. Kapri, was arrested along with his crew.
