Beyoncé is featured inside this month’s Time magazine. According to a record label insider, Beyoncé’s upcoming album, 4, is her worst album to date. The CD has caused turmoil and divisiveness at Sony/Columbia.
My source, who begged to remain anonymous, said Jay Z and Beyoncé both want the album released on schedule. But label execs don’t think Bey’s fans will embrace the album due to Jay Z’s incompetent A&R.
“This is the worst Beyoncé album ever!,” said my source from his home in New York.
“[Jay Z] and his boys are A&R’ing Beyoncé but they’re not doing a great job at it. This has been the worst rollout I’ve ever seen on Beyoncé. She never put out this… I mean, granted, not everybody can put out great singles. But, this is the first time she put out back to back to back bad singles. None of them are working! At least when Mathew was here, he would have put the brakes on it, you know… Sometimes the saying goes: if it’s not broke, don’t fix it, you know? Mathew might have made some bad judgment calls on his personal life, but as a manager… he was a great manager.

Well regardless I think she will still sell impressively, but I’ve been tired of her for a couple of years now and I think every album since ‘Dangerously in Love’ has been a slow decline….she was an awesome r&b artist and she’s an ok pop artist…

After years of branding herself as a dancer/singer to shallow music and she now wants to try and put out an album that maybe more deep. Unfortunately for her timing is way off. With the likes of Adele who sings amazing timeless music with her non screaming but beautifully singing voice, Beyonce just cant compete in comparison. The composition of her music was both sampled and poorly written. Her screaming often makes her songs sound forced and contrived. She really cant sell this one as a classic because its not even close. Not to mention the bad bad marketing
I HATE Run the World BUT every other song I have heard I like, she seems to be going for a more mature (for her anyway) r&b sound this go round
She will still sell like somebody else already said she has a built in hardcore fan base

The album isn’t as bad as I thought it would be after hearing “girls”, but definitely nowhere near great either. She’s a great performer, but as an album artist she’s well below average. The problem with the album is that it’s not “pop-y”enough to produce a lot of chart toppers and please her fan base, and not deep or well crafted enough to resonate with the critics. The writing is incredibly cliche filled (though we all know she doesn’t really write any of it) and her screaming and over singing is annoying as hell.

Unfortunately, the Stans are only concerned with numbers. Hence “she is still going to sell.” Of course she is going to sell because the Stans have a point to prove. However, quantity does not equal quality. She can go platinum the first week but the album will still be a HAM and she will be further away from Icon status.

As a loyal Beyonce fan I have to say that firing her dad was obviously a big mistake. The direction Jay Z is taking her music in is going to destroy her career! The music industry is trying to force techno pop on black people and it’s not working!
