A loyal reader who says she never asks for anything requested this video of Chris Brown performing “Yeah 3X”, “Protect Ya Neck”, Teen Spirit”, and “Beautiful People” last night at the VMAs. His performance would have been noteworthy if he hadn’t lip synced the whole thing.

That boy danced his asz off, shyt no one dances as hard and difficult as CB he can lip synch all he wants… Britney Spears lip sync I understand y ppl made but CB come on now, u starting to sound like a hater with nothing nice to say Ms Rose.
I must say, I was unimpressed and I’m a fan. Thing is, I like his singing as much as his dancing so I can’t really enjoy him fully if he’s not singing.
I think Chris Brown’s performance was fantastic. I have a soft spot for Chris’ old hard headed behind. Mostly because he and my son look like fraternal twins.

For the record if you all replay the performances beyonce also lip syched… Think I’m lying look closely towards the end of her performance. She sand live at the beginning only. Once she starting changing octives/chords that’s when it was done. Chris brown did a great job

Less than stellar??? Really??? I thought it was a great performance.
His performance almost put me to sleep. Its the same thing everytime! Not a fan of his music at all or his whiny voice. Chris needs to come up with something new!
I see this going to be VMA day on SR. I do agree though chris performance was lackluster the kid has done better performances and that wasn’t one of them. When he put on my nirvana joint though it was cool though.

I want to see Mint Condition. My sister went to the Jill Scott concert in Dallas this past weekend. Mint Condition, Anthony Hamilton, Doug E Fresh and DJ Jazzy Jeff were in the house. My sis said it was Amazing and that Jill is positively small…Apparently pics dont give her justice, the chick is just top heavy
As far as Weezy I like the songs he performed but as with Jay n Ye the sound sucked and I know they had to bleep a lot but still and the jeggin comments had me

I think stardom has gone to Wayne’s head and he’s not only calling himself a rock star, but he’s trying to be one. I played the last Carter album til my CD player couldn’t read it no mo, but I have no interest in this new one with all the autotune singing and the screaming and hollering. I have a soft spot for him, becuase like him my son made a lot of mistakes in his past he and Chris are the same age, and people didn’t not give up on him, and neither did I. People gave my son second chances and I think the same should be done with Chris.
I LOVED CB’s performance….the best IMO.
Both Jay/Kanye’s & Wayne’s performance left much to be desired. However, I prefer Wayne’s songs over WTT.

People still dont know all the details from that night with him and Rihanna. All in All, he apologized and did what the judge ordered him to do. I dont know what else people want. Everybody makes mistakes. He paid for his over and over again. Its time to leave him alone. She probably drinking everynight because she misses him. Get over it!!
I was looking forward to Chris’ performance. I already knew he could dance so I wouldn’t say this was his best…kinda of felt like he was trying to hard the first time I watched. I DID want him to sing at least one line before he did all that flying around; it got redundant towards the end when he was just flipping between stages (Others have done that before but whatever). After watching it a second time, I guess it was cool since it did look like he put effort into it and was redeeming himself at the VMA.

Daisy… no one who dances as hard as he does sings live while doing it. It’s a fact, just some people lip sync better than others 
Lip syncing in itself has nothing to do with their ability to sing or not… it’s still their voices you’re hearing, just isn’t live. When lip syncing goes wrong is when artists use somebody else’s voice ala Milli Vannili. Too much focus is put on that ish, hell when your entire career is built on putting on a show, there will be times when even if they aren’t dancing their voice just isn’t up to standard, from sickness or just plain voice exhaustion and an artist has to do it then too. Doesn’t take away from their talent or the show imo
