NBA star Dwayne Wade, 2nd left, tweeted this pic of himself, Miami Heat teammate LeBron James, and Hornets star Chris Paul with their beautiful sons at Nickelodeon’s World Wide Day of Play 2011 at the Ellipse in Washington DC yesterday.

The first picture is beautiful and touched my heart. I love to see men spending time with their children no matter the race. Children needs their parents for guidance, growth, and knowledge.
Chris Pauls little man reminds me of ushers son,… The one that never smiles much
Our future-our sons LOVE, LOVE,LOVE IT. This is the type of role model activity our young black men should be trying to live up to being a father to your child!!!!
Sandra I’ve been looking everywhere about you saying Angela Bassett was diagnosed with cancer and can not find it anywhere. Where did you hear this?
I love LBJ, Wade, CP3 with their sons. Where is Carmelo’s son… the media praises so much… exactly with his Mom. I never see him with his son without Lala. SMDH
Thank you for this post, Sandra. Such positivity this Sunday afternoon.
There are so many brothers who are stepping up and taking care of their families. They just don’t always get the credit. I know some wonderful, dedicated men who love their wives/children.

That does seem odd. But it could be that La La is busy with her career, which is separate from Carmelo’s career, so they have to schedule their time together.
@ TheRealAshland: and Sandra Bullock’s son
@ KrayZKat: you’re welcome. I’m proud of those black men
I was pissed yesterday when I turned on nickelodeon and the screen said “world wide day of play, be back at 3 pm”. It was raining outside and my child hates being outside.
@Sandra, so am I!
Chris Paul and Melo will be at my college (winston salem state univ)for one of their pick up games during our Homecoming wkend.
NC Stand Up
I LOVE to see men, especially BLACK men spend time with their children. I love it. Seeing a man push a stroller touches my heart. More men should feel the need to do so. It is safe to say these 3 are not the least concerned with no NBA money coming in.

I agree. I’m no longer with my son’s father but I have to tip my hat and give praise when it’s due. He’s an EXCELLENT father!
Baby Bron Bron got some big feet already, he’ll be dunkin by the 5th grade..lol
I will agree that the first pic is a GREAT pic!! I really like it alot. I don’t understand why anyone would say “I’m proud of these black men”. They’re doing what they’re SUPPOSED to be doing. That’s their children so they SHOULD be spending time with them. I guess when I hear people say they’re proud of a man spending time with his child, it sounds like “I’m proud of you for breathing today”. Lol.
@ABeautifulMess78. Chris Rock made a joke about this very subject years ago–praising people for what they should be expected to do anyway.
Yes, taking care of one’s children should be as natural as breathing air, but unfortunately so many fathers (especially in the black community) duck their parental responsibilities. I guess that’s why the black fathers that are doing what they’re supposed to do are given special credit like they are performing rare, extraordinary feats. That just seems a little condescending to black folks in general.
Love the first picture….as someone else said Chris Paul’s on reminds me of Usher’s little one
@ABeautifulMess
and
I really can’t stand that saying either…if you’re giving props to men then let’s give the same when you see a woman spending time with her children

lol, i know right? but it is what it is.
Good morning beautiful people.
@ ABeautifulMess78 –
– It also bothers me when men say they are “babysitting” their children….that’s a HUGE pet peeve of mine!

look @ P aka Mister make some Uh he looking a hot mess that’s still my baby doe
Lebron looking like a rottweiler
all jokes to side love to see black men with thier kids
Anybody know how do I get a picture in my Avatar as opposed to the weird monster “default” pic?
@Tatted- YES! My mom say my hubby watching the kids, I say NOPE, he is SPENDING time with HIS kids. I see women saying they gone ask their husbands to watch the kids, they don’t want to be gone long, etc. If you feel that way you shouldn’t have had children with him. My husband is just as good with the kids as I am. When they were babies, he stayed up with me during the colicky phases, got bottles, changed pampers, everything. I have full confidence in going out and knowing they will be safe.
I say I love to see men spend time with their children because so many don’t. In church we discussed giving people praise no matter if they are “supposed” to do it or not. You read about so many deadbeat men, it is refreshing to to see about black men being an integral part of their children’s lives.
@ lovezoe – I hear you…..It is definitely refreshing to see men stepping to the plate.
Good morning Everyone!!!
I love me some Chris Paul…
His son look like he a cute little bad something!!! Lol…

lollololol! i look at his pic and think “God bless savannah” cause dem babies are so cute.
My 5 y.o. kept coming in the room telling me that LeBron James was in D.C. and that Nick was doing the Worldwide Day of Play..to which I remarked, “OK.” He didn’t beg me to go and it was way cloudy, and since he’s so young I knew he didn;t really get it any way. Now that I see Big Time Rush was there, I feel really bad..LOL #mamaoffutureboybandmember
I worked this event and I must say Nick did an outstanding job. There were alot of activities for the kids and something to get them out and active instead of being glued infront of the tv/computer screen all day. Im glad I got a chance to work the event but it definitely added about 10 more years of birth control.
But ummmmm, is her name really Cymphonique Miller, or is that a stage name??
Melo looked extra sexier in person too.
who’s son is that in the red and white?
