Cardi B fans rejoice! Nicki Minaj is retiring to raise a family with her fiancé, Kenneth “Zoo” Petty.
The 36-year-old Barbie rapper made the surprise announcement in a tweet on Thursday, Sept. 5.
“I’ve decided to retire & have my family,” she wrote. “I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE.”
Rumors swirled that Minaj married Petty in a civil ceremony recently. But she dismissed the rumors.
The couple initially dated when they were both teenagers in Queens, NY. He served seven years in prison for first-degree manslaughter and was released in 2013.
The couple hooked back up in 2018. They have been inseparable ever since.
Petty, who has a criminal record, came under scrutiny for carrying a loaded weapon during an Instagram Live video.
Many pointed out that the 41-year-old ex convict came off supervised probation just last year.
