A Florida church is ministering to the unwashed masses – one strip club at a time. The Newsound Church, which currently worships out of West Palm Beach high school on Sundays, purchased the old Double Dee’s Ranch strip club to house its congregation.
Parishioners are well aware of the sinful behaviors that went on inside the Double Dee’s Ranch, but their motto is, “Let the sinless amongst you cast the first stone.”
“I don’t mind being in a building that was a strip club any more than I mind somebody walking in our doors that had at one time in their life been a stripper,” Pastor Josh Mauney told CBS Miami. “We believe we can bring hope and healing to any location, that’s what we’re trying to do.”
Mauney says he expects the new church to open its doors next year. He also expects to welcome some of the strip club’s former customers into his flock.
According to the NY Daily News, the new church will hold 600 to 700 worshipers once they remove the stripper poles.
