Rapper DaBaby may be a sweetheart to his mama, pictured with him at this weekend’s BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta, but his fans are afraid to approach him due to his bodyguards’ reputation for extreme violence.
DaBaby ran into one of his voluptuous fans while out shopping and spending his hard earned cash at a mall in Atlanta. DaBaby was in town to perform at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre on Saturday, October 5.
The single mom was so flustered when she saw her favorite rapper, that she hyperventilated and broke out in a cold sweat.
But she calmed down when DaBaby asked her for a hug and then complimented her vintage ride.
“I didn’t want to get knocked out!” the woman said before hugging the rap star.
DaBaby’s bodyguards have a reputation for violence and knocking out his overzealous fans, particularly the females.
DaBaby is a little thing, about 5-foot-6, so he needs all the protection he can get.
DaBaby made headlines this weekend when his new album Kirk kept the iconic Beatles album Abbey Road from returning to No. 1 for the classic album’s 50th anniversary reissue.
The Beatles’ Abbey Road debuted at No. 1 in the UK, but DaBaby’s album Kirk kept Abbey Road from a historic chart double on the Billboard 200. Kirk dropped on Sept. 27 to rave reviews from music critics and 145,000 equivalent sales.
The North Carolina rapper is best known for his single “Suge” off his debut album, Baby On Baby (2019).
DaBaby used a throwback photo that shows him as an infant sitting on his daddy’s lap for the Kirk album cover.
The 27-year-old Capricorn, who was born Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, named his second studio album after his and his dad’s surname.
“Kirk, my last name, it holds big weight. It’s all about confidence, being a leader. It’s going to be the title of my new album, too, by the way,” he said in an interview last year.
