A Miami United Parcel Service worker was charged with hiding packages worth nearly $3,000, then returning to steal the packages later.
Police say Emmanuel Lamont Reggin Jr., 18, a seasonal delivery driver for UPS, hid packages containing electronics while his co-worker wasn’t looking. He then returned later to steal the packages, police said.
Reggin Jr. was caught on camera hiding the packages under a dumpster at an electronics business where he and a co-worker had delivered 5,500 packages.
The next day, he hid more packages under the dumpster. He was caught when a manager at the business saw him on surveillance video retrieving three boxes from under a dumpster.
The packages contained a laptop and two PlayStation 4 game consoles, according to WSVN-TV.
Cops arrested Reggin and recovered the stolen electronics. He was charged with third-degree grand theft.
In a statement to WSVN-TV, a UPS spokesperson said Reggin Jr. was no longer a seasonal employee at the company.
