Idris Elba finally enjoys married life after exchanging vows with model and actress Sabrina Dhowre in 2018. The hunky Brit gushed over his “beautiful” wife Sabrina as he looked back over the past year.
The actor, 47, spoke with PeopleTV at the world premiere of his new movie Cats in New York on Monday, Dec. 16. He said the couple’s April wedding was the highlight of his year.
“I think getting married to my beautiful wife was the best thing to happen to me in 2019. We had our entire families there, so that was just incredible.”
Idris wed the former Miss Vancouver in a lavish ceremony in Marrakesh, Morocco and previously said the three-day celebration was one of the “most beautiful” times of his life.
He should know the difference; he’s been married three times and has several children, including a minor son with ex-girlfriend Naiyana Garth (pictured).
In between marriages, Idris dated a plethora of beauties including British actress Naomie Harris, pictured below with Idris at a premiere in 2013.
Idris also opened up about working on the big screen adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd Webber Broadway classic. He paid tribute to the “incredible people, all the actors, all the directors” involved in the big budget movie production.
“As an experience, it was one of the best film experiences I’ve had,” said the actor who has over 95 roles under his belt.
Cats, also starring Taylor Swift, Judi Dench, Francesca Hayward, and Jennifer Hudson, debuts in theaters on December 20.
