Sen. Joe Biden offered his sincerest apologies for suggesting that all Black Americans vote for Democrats regardless of their record on civil rights.
Biden, 77, sparked a severe backlash when he told Charlamagne tha god “you ain’t Black” if he didn’t pick him over Trump.
Black Twitter erupted with condemnation and a plethora of Biden dementia memes. Biden is rumored to be suffering from the longterm effects of senile dementia.
Many on Black Twitter said Biden would not have insulted any other race in such a manner.
Biden previously angered Black Americans when he commented that former President Barack Obama was “articulate” and “bright” and “clean.”
Biden humbly apologized for his cringe-worthy remark to Charlamagne and all Black Americans in a statement to the AP on Friday.
“I should not have been so cavalier,” Biden told the Associated Press. “I’ve never, never, ever taken the African American community for granted. I shouldn’t have been such a wise guy.”
Biden added that, “No one should have to vote for any party based on their race, their religion, their background,” he told the Black Chamber of Commerce in a phone call on Friday.
Black conservatives have long complained that Democrats take Black people for granted and just assume they will vote the party line regardless of the candidate.
