Kim Klacik is on a short list of renowned Black speakers at the 2020 Republican National Convention, that kicked off on Monday.
Klacik, 38, made history by winning the Republican nomination in Maryland’s 7th Congressional District special primary on February 4, 2020. She was the first Black female Republican candidate ever to run for a Maryland Congressional seat.
She spoke on Day 1 of the RNC in Charlotte, NC, saying, “The Democrats still assume that Black people will vote for them, no matter how much they let us down and take us for granted. Nope! We’re sick of it and not going to take it anymore. The days of blindly supporting the Democrats are coming to an end.”
The married mother-of-one continued: “In Baltimore, we have the highest number of Black Republicans in the entire country running for office this election cycle.
“Joe Biden believes we can’t think for ourselves — that the color of someone’s skin dictates their political views. We’re not buying the lies anymore — you and your party have ignored us for too long.”
