The music video features Justin as a down-on-his-luck oil refinery worker who is involved an interracial relationship. Actress Ryan Destiny plays his Black girlfriend.
“I don’t believe in nirvana, but the way that we love in the night gave me life, baby,” Justin sings.
The NY Times calls the song “devotional R&B, blending themes of loyalty and faith with those of romantic commitment.”
