A St. Louis woman fought back against an armed carjacker who attempted to rob her and drive away in her car.
According to KSDK News, the victim told police she was robbed and carjacked after stopping to get her paycheck at a business in the 1000 block of North Vandeventer.
She said an armed robber approached her as she returned to her car in the parking lot. She jumped into her car, grabbed her own gun and shot the robber as he drove off in her car.
Moments later, police responded to a 911 call about an accident with injuries in the 3700 block of Finney Avenue, about a half mile away from the scene of the carjacking.
Police found the victim’s stolen car with a man inside who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The carjacking victim was treated for a leg injury, which she told police happened after she fell from her car during the carjacking.
The victim was not charged.
