T.I. vs. Jeezy’s Verzuz battle may not happen if Jeezy doesn’t pay off his old debts.
According to AllHipHop, Jeezy owes his old music producer Shawty Redd $105,000 for producing the beats that made him a hip-hop superstar.
Shawty, 39, is recognized as one of the pioneers of trap music. In addition to other hip-hop classics, he produced Jeezy’s album Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 (2005).
Shawty made it clear on his Instagram live that Jeezy owes him $105,000.
“Since the ni**a think he bigger than me. I want to see you go against T.I. with all them records,” Shawty said. “Jeezy getting sued soon as he play my music on MF Verzuz… I’m suing your ass. Period. Period!”
Shawty also worked with T.I., Gucci Mane, Pastor Troy, Snoop Dogg and Bun B.
Shawty said he will file a lawsuit if Jeezy or T.I. uses any of his songs during the battle.
Hopefully, Jeezy can come up with the money before the Verzuz season premiere on Nov. 19.
