An Augusta woman who was wanted for assaulting another woman in a Little Caesars restaurant has been caught by police.
Brittany Kennedy was taken into custody on Wednesday by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals.
Kennedy assaulted 22-year-old Emily Broadwater at a Little Caesar Pizza at 3221 Wrightsboro Road in Augusta on May 17.
Authorities say Brittany Kennedy, 25, approached Broadwater and an argument ensued. Kennedy pulled a chair out from under Broadwater, causing her to fall on the floor.
Cellphone footage shows Kennedy grabbing the victim’s hair, dragging her across the floor and repeatedly punching her as Broadwater’s 3-year-old daughter cried.
The victim suffered bruises, facial lacerations, a black eye and a cut lip.
Both women took to Facebook to explain their side of the story. Broadwater said she previously cared for Kennedy’s three children while she was in prison.
Broadwater currently dates the father of Kennedy’s children. He is the father of Broadwater’s toddler.
“All I did was help a friend out with his kids while his baby mama was locked up. She has been harassing me for weeks now,” Broadwater wrote on Facebook.
After Kennedy was released from prison, she allegedly stalked and harassed Broadwater before assaulting her at Little Caesars.
Kennedy is being held without bail at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center and charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping and criminal damage to property.
