A Houston reporter who went viral for threatening to expose corruption at FOX News Corp. has been suspended.

Fox 26 News reporter Ivory Hecker went off script during a live remote on Monday. She said FOX News corporation have been “muzzling” her and other reporters at the station to prevent them from telling viewers the truth.

“Before we get to that story, I want to let you, the viewers, know that Fox Corp. has been muzzling me to keep certain information from you, the viewers. And from what I’m gathering, I am not the only reporter being subjected to this. I am going to be releasing some recordings about what goes on behind the scenes at Fox, because it applies to you, the viewers. I found a non-profit journalism group called Project Veritas that is going to help put that out tomorrow, so tune in then.”

Hecker said she leaked secret recordings to Project Veritas‘s James O’Keefe, who was banned from Twitter for leaking a video exposing CNN.

Hecker’s supervisor, Lee Meier, called to tell her she was suspended, “effective immediately”. Hecker recorded that call too.

“I wanted to call you and let you know that you are suspended, effective immediately, pending further review,” Meier said.

“Ok. Sounds good,” Hecker responded.

Project Veritas has confirmed they will conduct a sit-down interview with Hecker on Wednesday night. The conservative group will air recordings and video provided by Hecker during the interview.

So far, there has been no word on the information contained in the recordings.

Hecker is being hailed as a hero for risking her job to expose Fox News.
