East Point, Ga. police released surveillance images of three teenagers wanted for questioning in the deadly shooting of a woman outside a recording studio on Friday night.
Police believe the three people in the surveillance photos may have witnessed the shooting.
Tanasia Conwell, 26, was shot in front of her three children at a recording studio off Nadell Avenue, FOX 5 News reports.
She later died at a local hospital. Her family is not sure why she was at the recording studio.
“It’s just a tragedy right now,” the victim’s mother Arkevia Conwell told FOX 5. “That was my baby, my firstborn, 26 years-old that was taken from her three kids.”
Arkevia said she learned of the shooting from her 5-year-old grandson, who was with his mother and two siblings at the time.
“I called my daughter, I got no answer, I continued to call, still didn’t get an answer, so I called my 5-year-old grandson phone when I called his phone he said, ‘Ma Keke… that boy shot my mom,'” Conwell told FOX 5.
“She had just got a new car, just moved into her new apartment, she was working at amazon, so for a 26-year-old she had potential,” Cowell said.
Family and friends held a vigil for Tanasia Conwell, according to Channel 2 Action News.
“You will receive justice. I’ve prayed on this, and God is going to see to it that you will see justice, and I pray that it’s swift,” Tanasia’s grandmother, Felicia Conwell-Thomas said at the vigil.
Anyone who can identify the boys or has any information about the shooting is asked to call investigators at 404-559-6300.
