President Barack Obama already has the black vote on lock, so he has successfully steered clear of tackling issues that would improve our lot, such as the staggering unemployment among blacks. Even though most blacks and Latinos oppose gay rights, Obama has campaigned heavily to Hispanics and gays — while cementing his position that he is not a crusader for black people.
Last night, the official ‘black president’ — Bill Clinton gave a stirring, impactful speech for President Obama’s re-election at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC. Although Clinton didn’t explicitly say it, his message was clear: hang on in there folks; Obama has your back if he wins a second term.
