According to Fox News, (Mar. 3) U.S. President Barack Obama plans to pitch a smaller, more streamlined health care bill tomorrow than the one he introduced 3 days ago.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she hopes the new bill will garner the necessary GOP votes to pass:
“It will be a much smaller proposal than we had in the House bill because that’s where we can gain consensus. But it will be big enough to put us on a path of affordable, quality health care for all Americans that holds insurance companies accountable.”…
Melody Barnes, a top Obama domestic policy adviser, says Pelosi and Obama have drafted a smaller bill “borrowing” from conversations at Thursday’s health care summit. The new bill will contain a few carrots that the GOP can nibble on, such as tort reform and purchasing insurance across state lines so that consumers get more choices than what’s available in plans in their states.
Barnes went on to say, “We’re going to be borrowing from those conversations…to come up with a bill that we hope can receive bipartisan support.”
In other words, the Obama administration will come down off their high horses and listen to what members of the GOP have been saying all along. Obama campaigned on a promise of bipartisanship, but after taking office he has made little effort to be bipartisan.
So now, even if Obama is pretending to be bipartisan (as some suspect), he will have to put his money where his mouth is if he wants any sort of health care bill to pass.

Our President may pitch a samller bill, but the GOP is trying to slip something in our

I know “Wishful Thinking”. Hubby and I both work and we are very blessed to have affordable Insurance but it did go from 90/10 to 80/20. I am far from complaining, I just hope our Insurance premium does not increase to suppliment the uninsured if the bill does pass. If the bill does pass it is not going to be “instant” for those who need it, but before it kicks in will my insurance rates instantly go up? Maybe I will get answers soon.

There are lots of uninsured ppl out there and I have a few. My kids are what I call the “tweeners” One has earned her degree but because she is not in college is not able to be on either parents insurance. She just started a new job and has to go through the probationary period for health benefits. My youngest took a little break from college and has been back in school but waiting for paper work for her to be back on the insurance. I want “top of the line insurance” like the ppl we put into office.
@Anna Whoopi also wants the same insurance as Congress but that will never happen sadly. I am glad every job I have ever had ins started the day I was HIRED never had to wait for it to kick in.
Up to this point he has been one step ahead of the republicans and YOU Sandra. I think he’s setting them up. Either make a deal or he gets to say to the public see “Told You So”. Got to love it when the people digging the grave keep falling in.
@rjk8 I see your point and where you are coming from but alot of the public already didnt agree with healthcare reform and some of the ones who did are now saying they dont care about healthcare when they can’t get a JOB. The President has alot on his plate and I wish him well I believe he is doing the best he can with the mess he was left with.

Wow. You are blessed “Instant Insurance”.
Dear Sandra Rose readers,
Please STOP DRINKING THE KOOL-AID AND READ! This health care bill is only going to cover 30 million people. You do understand there are 302 million people in this country right? That means that less than 10% of Americans will be covered under this plan but EVERYONE will be regulated by it. Do you know who that 10% includes? Not your black @$$, that’s who.
Look past this man’s skin color and see him for what he is; another president but this time with negroid features. He’s not about helping YOU and no matter how much time you give him in office, he’s still not going to help YOU because the establishment benefits too much from oppressing you. We were not brought to this country to be equal citizens. We were brought here for free capital. They were making money from our backs then and they are going it now. Please don’t be naive.
@PrettyGirlEsq
I don’t know why I’m waisting my time replying to you. Its obvious that you do not work nor have insurance. The health care bill will cover an ADDITIONIAL 30 million people.
@Daisy
Some of the ones who did are now saying they dont care about healthcare when they can’t get a JOB.
***********
Wrong. Those are the people who need it the most. Those who had insurance while working and now the don’t have a job and are also uninsured. They care about insurance however finding a job is higher on their list of priorities.
