Actress Sheryl Lee Ralph made headlines recently when she accused an unknown “famous TV judge” of sexually harassing her.
In a podcast interview, Sheryl opened up about two incidents of sex abuse.
“This was a famous TV judge… I’m at a very public place. I was suited, I was handling my business for the television show I was on at that time. We were on the same network. This man walked in grabbed me by the back of my neck, turned me around and rammed his nasty tongue down my throat. And everybody at the network saw it.”
Sheryl said the TV network asked her not to report the incident to police.
The Abbott Elementary star did confide in the mayor of New Orleans at the time, Marc Morial.
“He said ‘you want me to send the police there right now? Because we will fix his you-know-what right now.'”
However, someone at the network pleaded with her not to report the judge.
“Do you know that they did not want any bad press around their show and did not care what just happened to me,” she told Angela Yee and Jasmine Brand. “That’s the kind of stuff that happens. That’s what happens. That’s what makes it hard for women to speak up about these things.”
The 66-year-old actress made it clear that her sexual harasser was not TV’s Judge Mathis.
Bloggers speculated that the sexual abuser was Judge Joe Brown. The retired judge took it as a personal attack on his political aspirations.
Now Brown is threatening to sue Sheryl for defamation of character.
Brown, 75, believes Sheryl was sent by the Democrats to sabotage his run for the Mayor of Memphis.
According to Rhymes with Snitch, Brown spent the weekend re-tweeting his supporters who condemned Sheryl for speaking out.
His supporters accused the Emmy Award-winner of ulterior motives since she waited all these years to speak out now that Brown is running for office.
