Boston’s fans and sports journalists are ganging up on Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla after Boston lost Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals to the red hot Miami Heat.
The Celtics dropped the first 2 games at home and now find themselves in a 3-0 hole.
Boston’s media and fans are calling for head coach Joe Mazzulla to be fired — and they even question why former coach Ime Udoka was was fired for cheating on his fiancee.
Fans say Udoka had the confidence and respect of the team, while Mazzulla can’t seem to find his way out of the locker room.
“I’ll take kinky Ime Udoka over Mazzulla,” one fan wrote on a sports message board. Another Celtics fan wrote: “Should’ve just let Ime f**k. Now you’re f***ed.”
The NBA’s Kevin Smith tweeted: “I would fire Joe Mazzulla. I don’t advocate for firing people, bc it’s gross, but it’s warranted. I’m there with this one.”
Since many are asking…
I would fire Joe Mazzulla. I don't advocate for firing people, bc it's gross, but it's warranted. I'm there with this one.
That said, I don't think he's going to get fired. Not with multiple guaranteed years left under contract. Just can't see it.

Even Mazzulla is second-guessing his ability to turn the team around after the Heat destroyed them by 26 points in Miami on Sunday.
“I just didn’t have them ready to play,” Mazzulla said after the game. “I have to get them in a better place to be ready to play, and that’s on me.”
The Celtics entered the playoffs as the clear favorites to win the NBA championship. Now they face elimination on Tuesday, and Mazzulla may be out of a job by Wednesday.
“Yeah, it’s why I need to be better to figure out what this team needs,” Mazzulla said.
